Re: CJ MUST BE GIVEN A CHANCE TO PLAY!!!

Give him a crack on Scott Welsh (similar size & speed) in defence with Paddy in the forward line. If it's not working out, then switch him in to the forward line in the 2nd half. Unfortunately he hasn't set the world on fire in the 2nds, so it would be too much to expect him to slot in FF & ...

Re: Some observations...

1. Houli: love the way he cuts inside and goes up the middle. He really straightened us up today. Great poise under pressure and consistent disposer of the ball. 2. Stanton: got the ball in dangerous spots today and chased a little harder ( operating at about 30% in this department). I felt he was ...

Re: So proud of them. They were brilliant today.

Houli will get Brownlow votes this year. The improvement in him is phenomenal. Dyson, still have question marks, but if he can get a few touches against the 'hard at the ball' Cats (Tenace exempted), then maybe he can convince me. Lonergan was a revelation. Rama was cool as a cucumber. The rucks did...

Missed the National in Brissie; we had just spent a few days over on Nth Stradbroke Island & were a bit knackered when we got back, which was on the same night as the gig. Surprisingly they did 2 shows at the Zoo, so the first show must have been a sell out. Have not heard or read any reports on...

I think Brissie have got sweet f*** all depth (maybe cause the QAFL is like a bush league). Rossi, you might have to rethink them as a flag threat for this year.

And give GOD his dues too; his main target was to improve defensive pressure & from what I saw tonight, it's better than I've seen in years.

No more easy kicks for the opposition.

Reimers, I like his style; guaranteed to get up the noses of opposition supporters. Houli, Nash & Hocking, hard working midfielders that are all gonna be 150 gamers (Hocking maybe 100+). We harass, tackle the into the turf, stand the mark & creep a few yards to slow play down, & we run l...

If I was a fast bowler having to break my back every week on that flat track in Adelaide, I reckon I would give it away also. He should plan a move to Qld or WA.

CA are more worried about the money than the morals of their players. I hope the players really take a stand against CA. Trouble is Rossi, the only stand they will take is play in India for the big dollars in May this year for that one day tournament. I would like to see all of our players refuse t...

Did like The National - their singer reminds me of a singer from a little known American band from the mid-eighties, 'The Nails'. I'm not sold on Dappled City; good enough music & musicians, but their sound just doesn't grab me. I need to hear a song that grabs my attention & unfortunately,...

A few more while I'm at it:

Love & Pride - King
For Your Love - Yardbirds (maybe debatable if this qualifies)
Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon
Ca Plane Pour Moi - Plastic Bertrand

Definitely have enough there for a 25 song CD in all the above....

Agree Robbie, not ecstatic with not snagging a decent mid. I think people over rate our current mid's & I still have big question marks over blokes like Dempsey, Dyson, Pev (surprise, surprise), JJ & Winda, to name a few. Maybe Palmer might turn out to be Tenace Mk2 & maybe Junior Boy mi...

Mark Williams did the same when he went to Port (pinched players, playing styles etc) & they snagged a flag & have had the wood over us for 6 years now. I hope the same doesn't happen with Freo now. I actually don't rate Harv's as an astute, strategic coach (maybe that Shaw's specialty) but ...

We now officially have rebounding defenders coming out of our arses. Anyone would think we had a gun midfield like WCE (who still added more mids to their list), rather than one of the worst.

You can never have enough quality mids around the place.
