I would rather have worn our traditional strip, and I reckon re could have. But, it wasn't disastrous. It was a bit redder but we still knew who we were. Plus, we won the game. I'll happily have us in that strip if it means we keep saluting...

I was sitting just around from it and I could have sworn that the mark was spoiled by a Carlton defender before it got to Hirdy.
If he had have spilled a mark that could've enabled him to win the game don't you think the media would have pounced on it?

Been waiting for this to happen for a couple of years now, and the signs were good last year before he broke his leg. Great to see he has not only picked up from where he left off, but he's even taken it up a notch or two. Easliy the biggest plus of the year so far.

Jetta may go to Bendigo next week but don't be surprised to see him back in on Anzac Day. Player fitness management will be even more important next week. It's tough because our next two games are very winnable, but they may need to rest a couple for each game, given there's a five day break.

Yeah agree to a certain extent but it has always been Fevola that has killed us yet again. Shut that prick down and we Win Simple as that... The change with Fletcher should have been made a Hell of a lot sooner... Plus Complacency is a No No... Probably a good thing as this will be a Major Wake Up ...

I'll put it down to the injection of young players into the team being inconsistent & the team being complacent. It's always easy to blame the coach in hindsight. But really, it was the inaccuracy & complacency of the players that caused the damage. I'm sure a coach would rarely be needed i...

That was at Windy Hill, and Darren Bennett of all people cut us to ribbons in the last quarter. Still don't know if we were 48 up at any stage though...

Been following Essendon since 1975. If I'm wrong, let me know, but I can't remember coughing up as big a lead over the last 32 years as we did today. Was really hoping the 3 late goals they got in the second qtr was just due to a momentary lapse in intensity by us. Alas... 1991 Elimination Final? W...

Re: Carlton - do we have someone to shut down Fevola? If we close him down, half the battle is won. The rest of the game will be won in the middle by the youngsters (theirs versus ours). That's the difference between last year and this year. Last year when we played Carlton and lost, we had Reynold...

Didn't like him at all as a player, thought he was a bit of a sniper. However I have liked and admired the way he's gone about things as a coach and watching him on Thursday night has only heightened my opinion of him. Also was the first time in years that I didn't turn off TFS before 10.00.

Solomon is definitely undisciplined, but gets nowhere near the same amount of slack that most players get cut to them by the umpires. He should've realised this himself a few years ago. He's earned himself a rep and that was the main reason I wasn't sad to see him go.
