the fact that our squad is now largely made up of the cheap stuff in the supermarket aisle.
And I thought you were a fan of our latest acquisitions.
Funny how so many are "excited" by a bunch of "has beens".

Re: Do Hibberd and Townsend Represent an New Hard Nut Squad Strategy?

Martin Scorsese could direct an epic film about the softness of Essendon FC over the last 10 years....The Tissuemen. But do I sense a change of heart? Hibberd and Townsend don’t bring A Grade, elite footy to the club. Let’s be honest, they are both discarded players...honest toilers at best. But if...

Re: Those Shown the Door....

Congratulations to both Brown and Hartley...they both deserve another crack and can only wish them the best of luck with the remainder of their careers. Both stood up for the Bombers when really needed. It's interesting to read comments on social media about Brown in particular. Supporters from all...

LOL. Fair enough.
I haven't taken much interest in the draft (due to - as you said - our sad lot) so wondered if I'd missed something.

Re: 2019 draft

Never seen so much excitement about a draft, 4 days off vingertje Is that in general terms, or purely from an EFC perspective? I'm guessing a general perspective, given our picks are so far down the order. Tangental thought..... I really dunno much about it, but I've seen stuff about (what I think ...

Re: Jacob Townsend

Strikes me as a Devon Smith type forward - tackles, nippy and likes a goal. Oh and has done both knees (ACL) as opposed to Smith's knee complaints (PCL). Also has a premiership medallion. Problem I have with the rumored pickups is that they don't seem to be addressing our "widely identified" midfie...

Re: Joe Daniher's Groin, Calf, Moustache, Little Pinky

Well I'm optimistic about next season. Why not be? No reason why Joe won't be fit and firing. Same for the whole crew. It's always darkest before the dawn. The darkest nights mean you see the stars the most. Love the optimism, but should dawns last 20 years??? Well, one response to that could be......

Re: Adrian Dodoro

Anyhow... could someone in the industry advise me on whether this is true? Somewhere in the last couple of weeks I came across commentary that basically said that AFL players are restricted to 38 hours a week training off season and even less during season (I suppose club mandated training). This i...

Well if we are getting him in, he may as well become the boot shiner because I can't see him displacing Smith, Tippa, Stringer, Fantasia, and Snelling and Mosquito (who should get a run this year) as the Small/Meds in the forward line.

He's probably tried his best, and done some good things. And I wish him well for the future.
But I'm not unhappy to see him go. Actually I'm glad he's going.
I've said for a long while that our Assistant coaches weren't up to it, and now 3 have gone. Yayyy.
Things are looking up.

Re: Those Shown the Door....

Great we have now burnt our bridges with a forward that is the most reliable kick in the club and a big backman who has stepped into the breach when Hooker and Hurley were injured. Surely we need some sort of insurance policy and we should have retained them. I'm not that upset they're gone really....
