Re: R6 Essendon v Collingwood (ANZAC Day)

Huh....why all the love for Collingwood. I think we are every chance if keep to our recent form. They have a 2 man forward line and a non existent back line. Yeah good luck to them. Merrett, Shiel, Heppell, McGrath, Smith, Zaharakis, Parish, Myers can hold their own against the Pies mids......provi...

Re: R5 Essendon v North Melbourne

Well done Bombers! I didn’t watch the game, being Good Friday, but you guys did your job all the same. The Result and Joe’s return was most pleasing!Did he smile at all the right moments? He did have a few trademark smiles. But what I really liked was there were a couple of times where he showe...

Plenty of time on their hands. Ffs, I can’t understand why people keep trying to write off 18-22 year olds. Grow a brain and look at how most players careers go for the first 80 games.
They don't have time....others are passing them by.

Re: 2019 AFL Tribunal

And on it goes......
Zorko gets a fine for an elbow to the back of the head of Adams.
While the rest of the country is trying to eliminate the "coward punch", twice in a few weeks the AFL condones elbows to the head of someone who didn't even see it coming.
Pathetic.

Re: R6 Essendon v Collingwood (ANZAC Day)

Agree with the prediction but not the changes.
They'll play a one-on-one game which we've never found a way to counter, slow us down, and reduce us to kicking backwards/sideways looking for the open player to launch us forward.
My changes: Out: Ham & Baguley. In: Zaharakis & Smith.

Re: Where to Now for Langford and Laverde??

They may or may not be ahead of several of our younger/newer players, but I'd rather play the others anyway to see how they go, because L & L just haven't shown enough that they're going to ever really make it. And they've had plenty of chances. PS - Begley is in the mix as well, and even Mosquito d...

ANZAC Game Prematch

I'm a fan of Birds Of Tokyo, but that's just rubbish that we should have a rock/pop band playing before this signifcant match.
Only way I'd accept it is if they were playing covers like "I was only 19" or something like that.
Can't see what benefit it brings to anyone to be doing this.

Re: R5 Essendon v North Melbourne

If we'd stop handballing to someone under immediate pressure, and kick more accurately at goal, this would be a repeat of last week

Re: R5 Essendon v North Melbourne

Late change In: Joe Out: Clarke (calf bleed overnight ???) WTF? TBell lucky in the first place not to be dropped. Joe rucking? f*** me dead! AFL gonna fine us for this and we are playing an underdone player. Why we didn't name a ruck amongst the emergencies is beyond me. So lemme see.....Joe needs ...

Re: R5 Essendon v North Melbourne

Not sure what the issue with Smith is. He is clearly not at his best this season - he's been ok. I wonder if he is carrying some injury...maybe keeping him for ANZAC? Watched Woosha's selection interview - Smith being managed for his chronic knee issue. He talked about Brayden Ham being included as...

Re: R5 Essendon v North Melbourne

Hearing Smith and Zaharakis in doubt for tomorrow.
Oh no!

Teams out shortly so at least we won't have long to wait to find out.

Team announced:
Smith is OUT. Guelfi IN.
No other changes

Re: Hypothetical

Interesting points Grassy. Houli wouldn't play on a Sunday - due to religious beliefs. So should he be deregistered because he doesn't fit with the AFL Corporate view? Similar for Good Friday. We're a Christian based society, so if a player wanted to honour those values and not play, would they be d...

Re: Hypothetical

It's true they're being paid to do a job - and that's as far as their comments should probably go. But what about their personal lives? Can they, or should they be able to, make personal opinion statements outside of their jobs? For example, would you or I want our employer restricting what we can s...

I was just wondering where you would all sit if there was an AFL case similar to Israel Folau's. Or even what you think of his case. And I mean beyond the simple - he had a clause in his contract and he broke it stuff. So I suppose I'm wondering, do you think contract clauses like that should even b...
