Re: Grand Final Champions

I thought Hird was an obvious b.o.g in 2000. As good as Blumfield was, Hird, like many other times in his career was effective with every touch. He had the ability to be the most dominant player on the ground even with a small amount of touches. 29 disposals, 7 marks, 2 goals, 4 free kicks for.. was...

Re: William Ellis Green aka 'WEG' passes away

read today that a close friend of his have been discussing for the last five years that when he was to die he would be the replacement. The guys name escapes me now, but the tradition will continue with a small image of weg in the corner drawn by the man himself as a mark of respect.

Re: Stanton

I personally dont feel he had the greatest of seasons either.. but either did the club really. The stats were just their to show what he could do when he becomes the player we all hope he will become.. i.e harder at the ball, better defensively, more scoreboard pressure, better foot skills etc. This...

Stanton

This guy seems to cop it for various reasons when the whole side isnt performing, after reading the new bomber mag just wanted to highlight how much his overall games has improved for the club. I know he played the most games, but regardless he was top 5 in most, if not every stat category. Some sta...

Re: who would you play on andy lovett?

its funny how quick people can turn on a man when they know their going :P

I think his the exact type of player that time after time cuts us up.. I would suggest someone who can first of all keep up, and also someone physical. Prob Reimers.

Re: Looks like its when not if....

no way id be happy giving him up for a second round pick. In half, if not all of our good wins this season lovett was the man who at one point turned the match. When we stopped running he continued. He'll be a big loss, I want someone who can immediately come into the side and provide something.

Re: The Greatest Player Trades of All Time

Def the Salmon deal. Involved:

Darren Jarman to help win Adelaide 2 premierships. Certainly the 97 one off his own boot. What a last quarter!
Wellman to become an AA at Essendon
Salmon to become an AA / B&F winner at Hawthorn. A couple of times I believe?

Everyone's happy.

Re: Sticking up for Laycock

Great post. I think there is way to many players being abused/ridiculed at matches and online. The worst of which was Laycock being given the bronx cheer vs Adelaide. His a 'big boy' but when its 1 vs thousands its gotta get you down. I myself have wondered whether many an Essendon player was worth ...

Re: All australian side

wouldnt consider welsh.. has played bout 5 AA worthy games at most. Fev would have to make it on the field.. will have 80+ goals for the year. Id like to see Bock and Matthew Boyd added to the backline. Other than that its a great job. Honourable mentions for mine: Akermanis Robert Murphy Jarrad Mcv...

Re: Lloyd - Mark of the Year

are there any photos of it floating around?

I remember the iconic Moorcroft image, and the Tarrant mark a few weeks earlier had several shots taken of it.

Im just waiting for the sun tommorow..

Ricky Dyson

This guy has had alot of topics about him, and I figured if ever there was a time for him to step up this would be the game. He isnt simply being rewarded for good VFL form, he is required to cover our injuries/suspension and perform. What would you like to see from Ricky to justify his selection? p...

Re: Hille On The Couch

Was good to see him get recognition and exposure. Walls saying Judds last quarter against the Saints was the best quarter by a single player all year was a joke. He was good but gee. Think he had 8 touches (6 contested) .. 5 clearances in 13 mins. Walls went overboard once again. G.Ablett has had be...

First talks of Hille in the AA team ive heard in the media was this morning on the Sunday footy show... Billy Brownless suggested it. Bickley wasnt having it. Think he said theres about 4 players up for it.

Who else is there really?

Re: Votes Vs Brisbane Bitches.

5. Welsh (career best game)
4. Hille (what we have come to expect, should be AA)
3. McVeigh (very very solid)
2. Stanton (he ran all day, 9 tackles was pleasing to see)
1. Lloyd (kicked crucial goals, presented all night)

We had alot of good players.

Re: Our best 5 players

Fletcher (holds up the entire backline) Lloyd (cannot remember a game we won recently without him playing well) Lucas (always capable of kicking a bag) Hille (competitive ruckmen who kicks goals. always puts in 100%) McVeigh (strong, solid midfielder with great disposal and can push forward) On the ...
