With Lloyd so badly out of form the other night and with Hird now retired, it got me thinking who is our best player.
This is my top 3.

With Dustin Fletcher and Brent Stanton right up there.

I never thought I would say this, but I wanted him dragged tonight. He was one major liability. Our forward line functioned better last week without him.

He was appalling tonight. Run to the wrong spots, couldnt take a farken grab, even against guys half his size.
He got a serious serve from the fans on the boundary line.

He needs to start being more consistent and do more for us. He is very much a confidence player. There was a mark taken in the Doggies forward line last night...I think it was Lake, he should have punched that ball through for a point. Disappointing!!! I think he needs more support from the crumbers...

this was happening to the Saint for a couple of years....it is becoming a joke now....something must be done. Jetta Welsh Dempsey, well they can be covered. but to lose McVeigh tonight is going to be a huge loss. He has become our key player. Such leadership and committment. Lonegan has done a hammy...

Adelaide draw very good crowds during the season, just goes to show that many dont take the NAB Cup seriously. It is really 'glorified practices matches'.
On the other hand, Port draw very poor crowds.
Last nights match should have been played in Melbourne, they would have got at least 40000.

JJ really looked like the game has gone past him. Very sad!

Palmer vs Myers....we took Myers...time will tell... I would have gone for Palmer. But it is all guess work at this stage.

Potentially could have been a good recruit for us, but unfortunately has had a real bad run with injury. I hated him when he played for Carlton, but things quickly changed when he put on the red and black. Good luck Campo!

Stephanie Hird has more pace than half the team. Did you see the way she sprinted to the boundary line after running out with the team. She was flying!!!

Very harsh on Laycock. If the disposal to him was cleaner, then he wouldnt make the errors he made. At least he was in there having a go!

His misses last night, really cost us. However, if Richmond had kicked straight we would never have had a chance.

He is lacking confidence after the injury, hopefully with another preseason his accuracy will return. The positive is, he is starting to take strong marks again, and his timing is back.

Just got back from the game.....what a disgraceful performance. A sad ending to two great careers. After all the blood and guts James has split for the club, they play like that. A total embarrassment.

We are in for a few long long years.
