Re: Francis

Francis, Gleeson, Ridley, Redman and then with Zerk-Thatcher showing promising signs in the VFL too this year.

Makes me wonder how BJ gets another season unless Woosha thinks he can fill a role somewhere else on the ground.

Re: SACK SMITH

The story that is appearing (if it is accurate, could just be story we are going to be fed to limit the fallout) is that it was Warner's idea and he pushed for them to do it, got Bancroft to actually do it, and Smith was aware of it, but did nothing to stop it. Reports also surfacing that there has ...

Re: SACK SMITH

And in the aftermath we go from 0/57 to all out for 107 in the space of 19.4 overs. A collapse of 10/50, officially a worse collapse than England's 10/58 the other day.

Re: SACK SMITH

Talk that all of Renshaw, Burns and Bailey will be pulled out of the Shield Final currently underway and sent to South Africa. That would cover the loss of Bancroft, Warner and Smith, with two openers and a middle order player being sent over. Surely Maxwell has to get a look in too, particularly se...

Re: R2 ESSENDON v Fremantle

There was somewhere in Footyland wetter than Cairns? Where, ealesy? Highgate Oval in Craigeburn, not sure if it was wetter than Cairns though. Then some shithead went out on the field in the car and ripped it to shreds last night and all the local/junior footy scheduled to be played their today had ...

Re: R2 ESSENDON v Fremantle

Not sure if Zachy will be right for this game - concussion rules might dictate that he misses. In that case; OUT: Z. Merrett IN: D. Myers Don’t think I’d make any other changes. There are some who played poorly on Friday night, but there isn’t any VFL games to pressure them to be dropped. So Begley...

Re: SACK SMITH

So where is that line that these peanuts heatbutt but never cross. The on field behaviour by both teams during this series has been disgusting but to deliberately conspire to cheat and then get the new bloke in the team too actually do it, is a f****** disgrace and mind blowingly stupid. How did the...

Re: R1 ESSENDON v Adelaide

Saad kept Betts goalless. Thought TBC beat Jacobs in the ruck. Thought Langford showed some signs as to why the coaches keep using him the midfield, solid game without being spectacular. Almost no input for Zerret, minimal input from Daniher but still win. Hartley and Brown played their roles in the...

Re: Francis

Pick 7 - Paddy Ryder ( has become a great player but not with us) Also he was a great player with us...hence why most people were pissed that he jumped ship to Port mid contract. Generally people don't get to pissy about dud players jumping ship. Was anyone that butt hurt that Tommy Hislop went off...

Re: Francis

Lets hope Darcy Parish can emerge from his second year blues What 2nd year blues? You realise that his output was down last year because he was playing more as a flanker than he did in his first year, because in his first year we were missing about 1/3 to 1/2 of our best 22? He moved back into more...

Re: The Politics Thread.

So if Barnaby is ineligible, he has been ineligible for the past 13 years he has sat in Parliament. If that is the case can we make him repay all the entitlements and salary he falsely collected over that time?

After what Diesel did for Jobe and his career, he should be in charge of both Francis' and Stringer's preseason programs with some slight input from Crowie

Re: Adrian Dodoro and Xavier Campbell

It was nice to hear Xavier say we were going to be major players in the trade period. Figured we might get one fairly decent player but would probably pay too much for them. Then he and Dodoro go out and convinces all of Stringer, Smith and Saad to nominate us. Then Dodoro somehow manages to get the...

Re: Devon Smith

Rumours circulating on Bomberblitz that Paul Connors is looking at pulling out the breach of contract play against the Bulldogs to get the trade done and get Stringer to Essendon. Couple of posters have claimed he has had several discussion with Paul Marsh, the head of the AFLPA and has his backing ...

Re: Devon Smith

Another midget. We need to look at getting some bigger bodied players on to the list, particularly around the midfield. Where from? VFL, reckon the club is hoping the likes of Mutch, Begley, Langford, Laverde will develop into those big bodied midfield types. Reckon it is probably too soon to expec...

boncer34 wrote: Wed Oct 11, 2017 8:05 am FWIW we've been talking to Sloane for awhile, if the 3s's hadn't fallen into our laps then we'd have probably gone harder at him now then we have.
So are we waiting to take a crack at him as a free agent next year now?

Re: Rory Sloane

So.....if it's a "super" draft, that suggests there's a stack of talent. Which should mean a lot of depth. So what's the rush to be first in line for picks? There must be plenty of good talent way down the list, yeah?? 2001 was a super draft. Hodge, Ball, Juddy....we got f****** Shane Har...

Re: Rory Sloane

Could we be playing the long game with Sloan, he is a free agent next year.

Go bang, bang, bang, bring in the three S, show him we mean business, can get deals done and are a destination club, and it will make us a lot more attractive given other VIC clubs will be chasing him too.

Re: Adelaide v Richmond Grand Final

Houli was robbed clear NS medallist for mine and thought Rance was 2nd best on, reckon Martin had a average game for him. Think he had been listening to too much of the hype surrounding him during the week almost being untacklable. Saw a number of time where he almost instigated being tackled so he ...
