3.5/10 Even before the break, had only one good game. Other than that, did show a few glimpses. In my view, not enough. Don't think he'll be a player. Shows poor decision making, and I don't think at AFL level he is good enough. Suspect he'll be a good VFL, poor AFL player. Oh, and I thought we only...

Re: The Vultures Are Circling!!!

3) Tristan Cartledge - Has recently soared past Peter Somerville as one of the Club's most underated Ruckmen. Lead the 2007 competition in the key stats of 'non-appearances, missing in actions, absents without leave and failures to report for duty' A remarkable underachiever over 4 years. Think thi...

Guys, wake up.

Notting isn't a tall defender, let alone a KP defender. He's in the same mold as NLM, McPhee and Cole - tall quickish players who can play on tall midfielders/medium defenders and peel off and attack.

So given we've got those three already, why would we want him?

I'd keep Cartledge. My theory is that with Ryder young, and Laycock injury prone, you need someone with some years on their body as backup to Hille. If you delist Cartledge, we don't want to use a high pick on his replacement since we've got Hille, and effectively past picks #7 and #10 in Ryder &...

For the record, I was against getting Aka.

If I'd known he was available for pick #36 (pretty much) I would have been all over him!

He should just be told to bang it long.

But the other problem is that he's also not particularly accountable.

NLM might stay toe to toe when someone is pushing him around. Ask him to put his body on the line and you'll have him ducking out of the way, standing off to the side, and generally not doing anything that would actually risk his body. I've seen him commit himself to many contests, and get in and u...

Although I wouldn't trade him, I could understand trading one of McPhee or NLM. Personally, I think their best position is the same one. So it would make sense to trade one to someone else who can use them as the 3rd/4th tall defender/rebounder for a draft pick.

So I'd trade NLM instead.

I'd be looking at Nathan Brown with pick #18. Can play defence from what I've heard, and in the draft camp was in the top 5 over 20m. I've always been a believer that a good backman must be quick off the mark. If we get Hansen, Brown, a good midfielder with pick #20 and Batsanis with pick #36 I'll b...

Also, although Polak was #4 in 2001, Bradley was #6 in 2003. We've already got one tall WA that we're not 100% certain about. Given Polak's issues, we would only want him very very cheap. As in, cheaper than the 2nd round pick I'd hope to get for Solomon. As to Schammer, no hope. Freo also needs mid...

I was under the impression they'd offer their 3rd round pick for McDouggal, and after on-trading Birss/Faulkner offer two 2nd round picks for Aker.

Also, they can't trade Aka without his consent. And they need to free up the salary space. So they must trade/delist him, and if they trade it must be to a team he finds acceptable.

If the bullies are offering a fair deal, they'd be stupid to pass it up.

Well, I hope Cole doesn't turn out to be a dud! You've got Seaby as a dud, thats pretty harsh. As mentioned, Armstrong is a premiership player, and Lewis Roberts-Thompson has played most games in the last two years in a team that has made the GF twice. Also not sure if you're right on Gardiner, or r...

I can't believe we wouldn't offer a player who is almost certainly in our top 3 (if not #1) midfielder only a 1yr deal.

Unless we can get a very good deal for him, I'm going to be very very annoyed about this.

I'd think Freo would want more than Solly, but we wouldn't let picks 18/20 go.

More like Solly + #36 for Polak. That would probably be pretty fair, and about the best we could hope for from Solly.
