Re: Who's on modified training?

We could see Stringer, Shiel, Razzle and Brown all available versus the Dorks. Hard to imagine all 4 would get up, but we could do with a break.

Re: MND - Mighty Neale Daniher

An amazing man with amazing courage. Thought I’d throw it amongst our Essendon thread board as he was a champion of our club. My No.1 footy hero in 1981 after he sunk Carlton at Princess Park. Only to see him go down with a knee injury the following week. That was pretty much the end of his footy c...

CAKE OF SOAP

During the telecast of our game, BT and Higgins started a discussion re the ball used for night games and how slippery it is especially in wet conditions. Higgins likened it to a cake of soap and commented that the main problem was the paint used for plastering the ball with advertising, made even w...

Re: R11 Essendon v Carlton

Saw Carlton play the Saints for about two quarters. They really were dreadful. Lacked any cohesion on the forward line, unforgivable turnovers, poor decision making, and panic stations on almost every play. Sound familiar??? And once again we find ourselves in the situation that a game we should win...

Re: GOODBYE AUSTRALIA!!!

I believe Albo is the only one that effectively appeal to those that they need to change their vote. Bowen is the architect of the economic agenda that made Labor such a big target. He will be sullied forever with "If you don't like it. Don't vote Labor". When I heard him say that on the radio I wa...

THAT IS IT. [/color] MY FOLLOWING AND WATCHING OF FOOTBALL IS OVER. I JUST WATCHED THE LAST 5 MINUTES OF THE SUNS VS MELBOURNE GAME. JADYN HUNT WAS CAUGHT COLD WITH ONE OF THE BEST GAME SAVING TACKLES OF ALL TIME. UMPIRE CALLS PLAY ON IN A DECISION THAT GOES DOWN, IN MY 50 YEARS WATCHING FOOTBALL, ...

OUT: T. Bellchambers, K. Langford, D. Zaharakis, M. Baguley IN: S. Draper, O. Fantasia, T. Mynott, J. Begley Out: Tbell, Baguley, oh whoever... In: Draper, Fantasia, Mynott and Ham (played decently in VFL). Likely to only get one newbie starting though. We know that Myers will slot straight back in...

Benevolent Bombers versus Bloods

We have all been here before. Beaten convincingly by teams above us on the ladder we now face a season maker/breaker by a team who are just a shadow of their former self. Will we see the re-emergence of the Benevolent Bombers by giving Sydney a leg up and helping them kick start their 2019 campaign,...

I reckon that this is the best team we can put on the park given our list. No excuses tomorrow. We simply must play to our potential and win.

Re: Was waiting for this to be addressed.

What did you expect, after all. The AFL is answerable to no one and it would be wishful thinking that they would admit the shockers in the last quarter could have influenced the outcome.

Re: ANZAC Game Prematch

The AFL seems Hell bent on a whole heap of shitty diversions which detract from "The Game" We now have wall to wall advertising, totally using ground announcers, appalling entertainment and loud music and advertising between quarters when you are trying to discuss the game. "The Game" does not need ...

Thanks for that, Windy. I was at the ground as a 7 year old the day that Coleman received that fateful injury. I had been taken into the rooms prior to the game by my Grandfather who was an ex club secretary of the Dons. I was given a number 10 gurnsey by the great man and he signed it for me. If t...

Re: R4: Essendon Vs Lions

I think Francis is being managed. Struggled with a corkie last week didn’t he? Guelfi not surprising. With Francis and SMack out, Hooker and Brown we’re always going to be picked. Thought Langford might get a run, but like it or not, I’m not shocked Myers was picked...more expected than not unfortu...

Re: 2019 AFL Tribunal

If the AFL is cracking down on behind/off the play incidents and have got rid off jumper punches - they should stand firm no matter who it is or whether the person was hurt, hurt badly or just laughed it off. Otherwise its just a mess. Too much weight placed on the damage caused. If they want to ge...

Re: R4: Essendon Vs Lions

TEAM ANNOUNCED. IN - Hooker, Redman, Brown & Myers OUT - Mutch, McKernan, Francis & Guelfi Great to see Redman get a run. He was fantastic against the Lions last year and is a beautiful kick to position. Cannot understand dropping Francis. More to this than meets the eye. If Brown snags a couple of...

Re: Zac Clarke

Did a couple of good things against the Dees but most of the game looked like a duck out of water.

However, overall, his height was a bonus and help to nullify Gawn. Worth another chance.
