Re: Rd 10 Ess v 'roos.
North have won 5 games in the last 2 and a bit seasons. McKay and Goldie have been in 6 winning games this season. :D Despite their crapness, the 'roos scared us last year. We must bury them this year. These are the games where we measure our ‘maturity’. Too many times before we have shown ...

Re: 2024 R9, EFC v GWS Pissants
That was a staggering win. We had no effective forward line to speak of apart from Langers,,yet our ferocious tackling kept us in the game. Merret and Martin, together with a with Langford were simply superb. Guelfi is so underrated. But he goes as hard as Durham. Just walking out of the ground and ...

Re: 2024 R8, EFC v West Coast
Flog in the Herald have Dasher the top vote. He had a great game but not in Zerrett’s league. Plus he kicked 3!!
I reckon some of these pricks don’t even attend the games they are reporting.

Re: 2024 R8, EFC v West Coast
I hate these games. Expectation to win but we have been known to drop these games or scrape home by a couple of goals. To butter the Toast by around six goals would be a pass mark in my book.

Marto; Back or Forward
The last time I recall a discussion around this topic was whether to play Hurls back or forward. To my mind, anyone who could kick a 50m goal on his non preferred is wasted on the backline. Martin is one of those elite players that come along once in a decade if you are lucky. He would shine no matt...

Re: 2024 R7, EFC v Collingwood (ANZAC DAY)
What worried me the most was that he pulled out of a marking duel at a crucial part of the game.
If you really want to piss the coach off at any level of footy, this is best way of doing it.

Re: AFL tribuneral etc 2024
The AFL invokes the “Turnstile” rule when assessing penalties. Above all else is the consideration “Is it going to affect the gate??? In fact, this consideration is at the heart of every decision the AFL makes. The Tribunal has been a joke for decades with the iron claw of the AFL influencing every ...

Re: 2024 R7, EFC v Collingwood (ANZAC DAY)
We have been crying out for tall players for several seasons.
I would keep the big lug in, as, like Andy Phillips, he can get in the road, spoil, and bring the ball to ground.
Like Dasher, he is struggling for form, but seriously, I cannot see him getting dropped.

Re: 2024 Round 5, EFC v Western Bulldogs
Gotta love Sammy Durham. I really admire blokes who work their arse off to become good AFL players. I really barrack for the kid. Must say… I am impressed with Xavier Duursma thus far. Didn’t really rate him to begin with, but I thought he was excellent tonight. I’m surprised (obviously) by the win...

For 3 weeks running, no journo at the Age has selected us to win. And that is 40 journos!!!
Cannot recall that ever happening.

Re: Round 3: Ess vs St Kilda
Caldwell’s last quarter was epic esp. the sizzling pass to Stringer which won the game. Young Duursma’s game was impressive also. The thing that impressed me most was the attack on the ball in the last quarter. We were relentless in the packs and fought like wounded dogs to keep the ball in our forw...
