Re: Hooker

Hooker played the same as he always does. He didn't do anything special but was solid as per usual. I don't know why people bag him so much.

Boncer34 and Robbie67. This is internet chat, it means nothing so don't get so upset with each other.

Re: 2012 Crystal Ball Predictions

hate on the coaching staff. not the players. for example if you don't like the best 22 by virtue of another guy missing out, or you think there are list cloggers, thats not the players fault its the list manager and coaching staffs problem. IMO you need to back the players 110% the coaching staff r...

Re: Hurley's Manager

i think its safe to say that the Giants have made a big play for Hurley. Offered him big dollars/incentives. That is the only reason he hasn't signed already with the dons. My hope is that Connors hasn't turned the whole affair into an auction. Which it might turn into whilst other players from oth...

Re: Hooker

I thought Hooker was one of our best players against West Coast, if not the best. Slattery though, he was putrid.

Re: Some 2012 Tactical Issues for Discussion

1. Three ruckman in the same team just doesn't work. We either miss out on a rotation off the bench or our forward line becomes too top heavy. 2. Carlisle must play forward. His marking is his outstanding attribute and that is best used in the forward line, it means goals. Sure we could be safe and ...

Only Hurley knows whether he will stay or go... I just don't want this saga to end up like Scully and be on the back page of the Herald Scum once every 2 weeks.

Re: Bomber Magazine

What possible role will Slattery play this year.... I hope I never see him at the centre bounce again. The further he is from the other team's goals, the less likely he is to directly contribute for them. Bendigo's the safest distance. That cracks me up j-mac31... the only reason he's still on our ...

Re: The 3 players you are most excited about watching in 201

Crameri - every time he gets near the ball I feel like something good could happen. Carlisle - hopefully he can turn him into a power forward this year. Melksham - has a bigger body and a couple of seasons under his belt now. Expecting big things. Isn't Gumbleton still recovering from his latest op?...

Re: Lonergan

Maxwell really isn't that bad of a player, sure he was crud towards of the end of last year but overall he has been good for Collingwood. If he was at Essendon he would probably be our second best defender. Don't get me wrong I hate Collingwood and I hate Maxwell but you guys have to put things into...

Re: Gumby or Carlisle?

Chrsit, I think expecting 40 goals is a bit much! That would put him in the top 20 in the league. For me he has to show that he can get through a season unscathed and that he can be useful in the seniors. If he puts in plenty of good VFL games without being able to beat out Carlisle or Hurley for a...

Re: Gumby or Carlisle?

How much has Gumby cost the club in medical bills? I reckon they could pay off the new facility twice over if they didn't select this physical catastrophe. Insurance - although point taken.....he's probably forced our premiums up single handedly Look, it took Dean Wallis about 10 years or more to p...

Re: Gumby or Carlisle?

IF he comes good injury wise, you have to think of him as a mature age recruit. And on that basis, he may not be a bad "pick up". In this day and age when more and more mature age players are demonstrating some value, Gumby may yet prove to be worth the time and effort. Anyway, he's on ou...

Re: 2012 will be most like what past season and why?

98-99'ish. I would take a '98 type season, we were competitive in every game and our biggest loss was only 24 points. As for '99 f*** no. 98 was a breakthrough season for us, I think about it frequently and I'm really glad someone has mentioned it. We where never in the hunt for a flag but played c...

Re: Gumby Finished???

This must surley be the end for Gumbleton now. The odds of him coming back next year without another pre-season under his belt and performing well are almost zero. The only way he was ever going to get a senior game next year was if he had a massive pre-season, put on a lot of weight and honed his w...

Re: Collingwood's Draw a Bonus for Essendon

I can't believe people read so much into the draw. This time last year if you found out you had to play West Coast twice you would of been more than happy (reverse that for Adelaide). Sometimes what looks like a tough draw can turn out to be a good one and vise versa. What's more important for Essen...

Re: Gumble Bungle

True, 20 games isn't a lot... True, CHF is the hardest position on the ground... But the fact is, in those 20 games he didn't show a hell of a lot and from what I watched of the Bendigo Bombers this year he hasn't improved. Sure he was injured for half of the season again and he's been unlucky but ...
