Re: Jobe !
Great idea, great post and well said. The bloke is a legend and what the eagles supporters did to him and our team was shameful. Hopefully we can end this saga with the media having egg on there face, a premiership and Watson getting another Brownlow.

Re: Have I missed something?
Wasn't comparing Jetta to Yarran in terms of ability, more reliability under pressure. All my Carlton mates speak of him in the same vain we do of Leroy. No thanks, not even for free. Am I right in assuming Gumby can't be traded given he will be out of contract? If so, you guys are really willing t...

Re: Team V Gold c****
Would like to see him dominate in the VFL this weekend, run into some form. This is the whole problem - he didn't play at all last week, and may not again this week. Not announced as injured, so WTF is going on? Whatever it is, it's pretty shit by the club to be keeping members so much in the dark....

Re: Team V Gold c****
Nah, can't see that being the reason. Why would you drop your number one ruckman just to give a newbie a go (even if the newbie is Joe Daniher). Messing with form is silly. Would have made more sense to leave Hurley out last week (to ensure he was recovered from injury) and play JD in his place ins...

Re: Team V Gold c****
You guys are reading into this too much, surely they just want to give JD a bit of a run in the seniors now that he's played his first game. We obviously can't have all 3 big blokes running around. JD will be dropped for Bellchambers in the next 2 or 3 weeks and everything will be back to normal.

Re: Joe to debut....
Was it just the 1 possession Jobe had, an ordinary handball to Rama? Now he's won a Brownlow and hopefully be the captain of a side that wins the flag this year... Like Billyduckworth said, it was perfect. Imagine in a couple years time (and a couple of pre-seasons) when he is a man what he'll be do...

Re: Melksham
Maybe he reads these forums?? I'm really happy for the bloke, at last he was able to make more than a significant contribution to winning us a match. Hopefully this performance gives him the confidence he needs to become a very good footballer and not just a plodder. Congrats Jake.

This conversation just tells ya how much of a stretch it is to look for a positive in this bloke.

Re: Changes for the Scumbaggers
Hurley is exactly the bloke we were missing in the forward line, the bloke who will bust the packs and bring the ball to ground, provides a physical presence and provides some form of forward pressure I don't think we're really missing him up forward ealesy. IMO, he's part of the problem. While it ...

Re: Melksham
The future doesn't look very bright for Melksham. His biggest problem is he doesn't have any upside to make him a standout or even competitive at AFL level. His kicking is woeful, he's slow (mentally and physically), he lacks awareness and therefore gets caught all the time, his tank isn't very big ...

Re: Changes vs Richmond
You blokes are dreaming if you think Melksham will dropped. The bloke is a protected species and he even managed a few kicks on the weekend even if they went sideways. In: Dempsey, Gumbleton, Jetta Out: Merrett, Hurley, Kav He was dropped a couple of weeks back. No reason why it can't happen again....

Re: Keep the Faith - slight bump in the road
When we lost to Melbourne last year I thought that was just a bump in the road too but we never recovered. Our players and coaches mindset needs to change. The obvious thing out of the loss yesterday is that we didn't respect the opposition, resting Gumbleton who is in the form of his career against...

Re: Kommers robbed goal
Isn't it great when we need people on a footy show panel to point out the actual rules... no explanation from the AFL when 2 umpires are conflicted with a decision, such as this one the lesser score is always applied, so the review being inconclusive meant the lesser score was to be applied "t...

Re: Changes
I swear some of you people don't watch our games. Drop Hooker? Give me a ****** spell. No.1 in the league for intercept marks, his direct opponents are doing anything special, he's been solid as a f****** rock. Based on Friday night, if you want to be serious about form, Carlisle would get dropped....

Re: Kommers robbed goal
The decision was the correct one of just a point. However, the Goal umpire was about to award a goal when the field umpire intervened because he thought it hit the post and called for a review. The result of the review was inconclusive, so it's the umpires call. So it was a goal. I thought we had go...

Re: Played poorly, kicked poorly, selected poorly......
The thread topic says it all, but team selection hurt us the most. The combination of Ryder and Bellchambers is usually the second best ruck combo in the comp. I thought we would of jumped at the chance to expose West who is one of the worst No 1. rucks in the league and Blicavs who has only played ...

Re: Pears and Jetta
Pears had a tall order in trying to out do Cameron I thought. Cameron is very good and may continue to be an excellent tall forward. When they were hot in the first half their excellent F50 delivery had Pears at a huge disadvantage, one only a taller player may have overcome. Cameron was marking th...

Re: Changes for Geelong
In: Heppell, Winderlich, Fletcher, Carlisle, Hurley, Ryder. Out: Stanton, Pears, Jetta, Hardingham, Hille, Gumby. Gumby desperately unlucky, but we just cant go that tall in a night game at the MCG. Yep i reckon you are on the money. Id lean towards resting Merrett for a week too but that would be ...
