Re: McVeigh

I hang a bit of shit on the guy, because he is a bit of a caricature, but have to say he has been f****** good the last two weeks, and just may be extending his career. Dyson may be able to hang on as a depth player as well. Really liked McVeigh's game and really like the way you have given him a w...

Re: Bendigo vs Collingwood

still reckon Scott will be a star. just hope his kicking is good these days.(looked a bit awkward early on). He may well be a star, but I wouldn't bother rushing him back in this week or next. Let him play out the season in the 2's hopefully at full pace. Come back and try and get through one pre-s...

Tell him to play 4 - 5 VFL teams first.

Re: FYI Bendigo

So he should have come back first game after an injury and played like a superstar? He didn't and now we should delist him  There are plenty of heads who should be on the chopping block ahead of a guy who has had a terrible run with injuries. Judge Gumbleton on next year. If his body is STILL...

Re: FYI Bendigo

Gumbleton was absolutely terrible yesterday and your right Windy_Hill, he needed to do stand up and be counted. I have to admit that was the first time I have seen him this year and it was on TV... he may of done some good work off the ball. I liked how he actually got the ball in the third quarter ...

Re: Henry Slattery

We had limited options in the middle, and even more limited options down back. Their mids killed us, and the relentless incoming ball to our backline was always going to overwhelm our backs. Last night our first options...Watson, Hocking, Fletcher, Hooker were missing and our second options couldn'...

Re: Hibberd?

Garlett kicked his only goal on Slattery early in the first quarter, it was obvious Henry was going to be too slow for him... so I guess the change was made. After Betts starting getting on a role I guess the coaching staff had no option but to leave him there, he doesn't have the tank or ability to...

Re: Henry Slattery

Can't see both Hibbo and Slats in the same team... just the thought of Henry playing on Garlett or Betts is scary... despite playing well after coming on last night i dont think he will hold his place against the Blues. You didn't happen to have an old Delorian in 1985 that took you back to 1955 th...

Re: Votes

1. Slattery Oh Dear ... This will cause more trouble than the scum troll. Wow, what part of Slattery's game made him the 5th best Essendon player on the ground? Was it his high marking? Long runs out of defence to set up his teamates? Courage under fire, putting his body on the line? Or is h...

Re: Hocking and Hibberd.

Have to agree with you there... also Slattery being in the side is a massive liability. When Garlett kicked that second goal running off Slattery I felt like smashing my TV in. Little did I know 2 mins later he would be switched to Betts, the rest is history. The worst thing was Slattery was consist...

Re: Changes for Scum

I'm sorry for making you guys so upset with my opinion of Gumbleton. I just don't think it's worth picking a guy who's out of form for such an important match. Also if Gumbleton is selected who would you drop if Watson and Hibberd are also available. I guess the selectors will settle this for us on ...

Re: Changes for Scum

One of the things that I read on the weekend was that Gumby made good position and his were leads ignored by VFL players. It is my belief that a AFL player playing in a VFL player will be dragged down to their level especially at CHF. When playing at a higher level with much better and skilful foot...

Re: Changes for Scum

Just listening to Rob Shaw on SEN who said Gumby had a great game yesterday as did Shagga above. Quote, unquote. But my calling for him to go CHF is tactical. Don't care if he doesn't get a kick...he takes a tall and we have the likes of Reimo, Alwyn, Melks, Zaka etc at his feet when it hits the de...

Re: Henry Slattery

Dilemma. With Michael Hibberd due to return, I wouldn't like both in the same team. Both are very similar players, but Hibberd is far better IMO. He played reasonably well once he came on tonight. But give me Hibberd please. First contest he went to, he gave away a free with a clumsy attempt at a t...

Re: The Worst Essendon Side I've Ever Seen.

Are you all forgetting about five years ago we won three games all year and finished second-bottom? Spot on, we have been very competitive this year in most games. Sure the last 5 weeks have been very ordinary but early on in the season we really had a dip... just ran out of steam. Lets face it, mo...

Re: Welsh Gawn

He didn't do anything last night but he wasn't alone, the game has past him by and really he was never that good to begin with. As a team man Welsh must do the right thing and step down to allow younger players to come through now. The more games we get into our young brigade the better we will be n...

Re: Hooker

I like him as a key defender, probably not the number one option, so lucky we have Pears. Yeah, he makes some awful f*** ups, but he's still only in his second year as a first choice defender. Still plenty of time. Have to agree with that, sure he's prone to the odd f*** up and he's out of form at ...

Re: No Pace - Bad Selections

For some reason we decided to pick a slow side this week when it was quite clear we needed pace. Three losses in a row now, I think that's more than enough for heads to roll. Some guys were great yesterday and had a dip but for the most part across the board it was an ordinary performance. Anyway it...
