Re: Is Essendon Better Suited to 666 than Other Teams?
To me, it looks like the 6 6 6 is doing the opposite of what it was intended to do. Locking 12 players into each arc and 2 of those starting at the goal square means it makes it harder to score quick goals straight from the centre as each forward 50 is heavily congested now. Sure you might be able t...

Re: Mason Redman, Aaron Francis and our Defensive Selection Nightmare
Lol, yes poor old Hartley.. not only have we forgotten about him it seems the coaches love to do that too. Apart from 2016 he's never been able to lock down a spot for more than a couple of weeks. Agreed on Redmond and Ridley possibly having some midfield time, they've done it with Langford but it h...

Re: Mason Redman, Aaron Francis and our Defensive Selection Nightmare
I was shocked Francis got dropped and put it down to the bad corky he'd gotten the week before. Then Redman came in and was fantastic.. so maybe he was genuinely dropped. Like you say these are good problems to have. I have been Ambroses biggest critic but have to admit he was good against the Lions...

Re: R1 Essendon v Greater Western Sydney
Fair enough Windy, I guess till Hooker comes back Ambrose will get his chance. I hope he does well and dominates but just don't think he has the ability or size to match most tall forwards.

Re: R1 Essendon v Greater Western Sydney
Brown will definitely play forward, he was probably our best player up there in the 2 JLT games. I really don't know what they are thinking with Ambrose. He is a dreadful defender, a poor field kick and doesn't seem quick-minded enough to play at AFL level. On top of that in today's football you nee...

Re: Is Hird overseeing...
We have spent the whole season to date getting games into JD. It is now apparent that we will not get a return on this investment for at least another year. Which begs the question, do we still keep pumping games into him with an expected minimal return, or try something different. Joey is not sole...

We lost by a point after the siren. Dempsey was very good all day and I would expect him to play. Otherwise Hams might be a surprise selection, he was probably best on.

Re: Clear Yer Lockers....
If it is our dumb arse strategy to heavily rely on a Brent Stanton to deliver our game, then we will continue our BS “success”. Time to bypass this fraud and inject an individual who will also provide moments of great courage and desperate efforts that result in scoring opportunities, as well as im...

Come on Windy_Hill how could any Essendon supporter not feel gutted after that performance. I feel physically ill and have felt like throwing up for the last couple of hours. I'm now going to go cry myself to sleep.

Re: Congratulations Stanton
Even if his stats are shit, I don't care. Here is a stat. Running race V Goldstein = lose. Under no pressure on a half back flank, don't look and kick into our CHF forward area, so Norf can rebound and get a shot on goal = LOTS. That effort with Goldstein was abysmal. f****** rubbish. Even North su...

Credit where it's due, Melksham has been good for the last month. In fact he's in the best form of his career. Under normal circumstances I would of probably hoped he be out for a while for his hit on Rough head, however I hope he gets off just so he can continue to improve.

Ya reckon? It's not like he was terrible all day like Crameri was and he still kicked 2 goals.JockStraps wrote:If his name wasn't M. Hurley he would be (should be) dropped.

In: Zaharakis, Hocking (play as the sub if not match fit), Howlett, Winderlich Out: NLM, Jetta, Merrett, O'brien - Not sure how Merrett got a game today after having 4 touches last week. Only the 10 today. Young - but gotta make way. - NLM was just used as a big body to give someone in the top 22 a...

Luke Darcy is a dickhead. Matt (I think) Finey from SEN ... BTW - not a bombers supporter Mark. Often called "Viney" by callers and messagers, but he only calls them on it when it's an abusive text. He's a dickhead (hence the countless abusive texts) but he is reasonable on issues like th...

Re: BRILLIANT BUCKETS
Credit should be given to the coaches for having the guts to swap Hurley and Carlisle again and subbing TB off for Myers straight after half time. Carlisle is great wherever he plays so if Hurley happens to be struggling up forward the change can be made and it's a win for us. It's a system that's w...

It was the point that got us in front. It was an easy shot under a lot of pressure because the scores were level. He played really well tonight, I think he's finally starting to get some belief in himself. Hopefully he can keep it up.j-mac31 wrote:Also Melksham missed a very gettable shot very late in the game.
