Re: Hurley- back or forward
Definitely a defender. Gumby and Ryder to develop into our key forwards. Emphatically this Plus, of course, Hille. Perhaps a bit of Carlisle too. I like Hurley in the backline. I think Knights game plan was built around a Hille, Ryder rotation at FF as resting ruckmen ......or there abouts. Hille f...

Re: Pre-Season BRAINSTORMING
Phase 9...totally think outside the square. Lloydy is what 31? B. Hall is 34 and just licked 74 goals so far this year . If you leave Lloydy in the square or 30m arc out why not? His body will be OK. His nemisis is gone. Think outside the square...get 2 years out of him?....WIP. Early in the year, ...

The noise has been made that the position is open to all comers.
Does that mean we should look at Malthouse?

People Power - good or bad
From what I read and hear, the talk from the president says that certain factions were not happy with the coach and that was one of the main reasons for putting him off. I get the threat of withdrawal of sponsorship, membership etc could hit hard for a little while, but what else is going on behind ...

Dempsey - still not a backman. Put him on the wing and let him run forward and where his defensive lapses don't hurt us so badMrs Mercuri wrote:Who the hell is playing on Garlett as well??????

Re: Essendon Dream Coaching Panel
Head Coach - As I have previously mentioned - Dean Laidley. Can extract much from a medicore player. Doesn't accept near enough as being good enough and certainly earns respect from his players. He wears a win well, but in my eyes he wears a loss better. he's bitter, upset and wants to have redempt...

Re: O'Donnell must do a Gillard
To me he seems to be a coach that expects and gets alot from mediocre players. Supposedly when he was an assistant at Collingwood, he was nearly popping guys in the head on the line he was coaching for not putting in. The rest of the coaching staff had to cool him down. This is a guy I want on my te...

Sorry, my point was that there may possibly still be games on these days.....but not nessesarily keeping the same clubs involved in the fixtures.Jazz_84 wrote:why would the AFL like to get rid of blockbusters like Anzac day? surely they would love these games?

Re: New Fixturing System PART TWO
By the way I would also suggest that you only have one ladder which reflects the actual results/percentage of all teams regardless of what conference they are in. As such, the final 8 will be the best performed 8 teams of the year based on wins and percentage, just as it is today. Its quite possibl...

Unlucky......just unlucky. He was slowly working back into some form, not quite as damaging as he has been previously, but servicable none the less. I'm sorry for the guy. I don't know much about the recovery process, but have abs like Zoidburg can't be plesant right now. All I can say though is tha...

Re: New Fixturing System PART TWO
I think as the number of teams increased and the possibilities of teams folding (or merging) decreased, that this was a logical way to go. It's certainly not a new idea as the AFL were touting such concepts up to at least 3 or so years ago and with the inbalance in the fixtures emerging, something h...

Re: Fletcher cops two more weeks
If you watch what the Hawthorn player was doing, he was running into Fletch to try and nullify him from presenting at the contest. This happened consistantly through the night, so I'm mighty sure that Fletch did lift a leg to try and break the shepherd which at times was up to 50+ metres off the bal...

Re: Get rid of him!
As for Pris.......he needs a good month somewhere else, like Africa because he's doing no f****** good in our team right now. You are kidding aren't you? That was probably his best game for us, was one of the few players who could hit a target and actually kicked the f****** ball in the 1st half. W...
