I know footy has gone soft...but I have seen far many more free kicks that have been given that were softer than that one. The problem being it happened at the most critical time in the match and the 50 is technically there because he played on and kicked the ball away.

I take your point re Sheedy...but selection is a problem...so is pumping up a guy that kicks 9 against us...did Sheedy put too much doubt on the players minds with respect to Franklin...I don't like that negative talk...take a leaf out of someone like Neil Craig who is level headed Sheeds.

I thought he should have played Round 1...I only saw him on the box in the NAB Cup game against Carlscum and he looked the goods. And he is a man who has a background in discipline - exactly what Essendon could do with more of.

100% on the money. Davey's goal and smother and 2nd and 3rd efforts were a rarity with respect to the rest of the team. I wish he could have finished it off though - he deserved to. You'd have to be proud of his efforts...a guy who haves a go and backs himself. I only wish others would take his lead...
