Re: 2024 Round 1. EFC v Hawks.

Footy is back
- lots of sunshine
- good sized crowd
- got to see all 84/85 idols pre game in the car parade
- we kicked more goals than points
- we were challenged and responded
- we got to 100 points first
- we won

That’s plenty enough for me. Thanks lads!

Re: R24 Essendon Faeces v Collingwood

I expected a 140 point thrashing and was pleasantly surprised by our efforts to restrict their scoring after quarter time. Had an enjoyable time at the Mcg celebrating each behind as if they were comparable to Collingwood goals and finished the night only 3 scoring shots behind. Really it was a fun ...

Re: Rd 19 Essendon v Dogs

I’m not too concerned losing to the doggies. They usually play well against us. Our style tonight won’t hold up against many teams. And certainly won’t get within 70 pts during finals. I ran a ladder predictor based on the higher ladder positioned team winning and results were: Win 3 - finish 7th Wi...

Re: R18 Essendon v Geelong

It’s really embarrassing that it’s broadcast on channel 7 too. Surely Adelaide v GWS would have rated better. We have scored early in the 2nd quarter. Maybe we can bring a respectable score line by full time. Geelong are a top 4 team & reining premiers, and we should have been prepared for a dif...

Re: 2022 AFL Draft

Melbourne offering pick 13 and 2 x future first rounders (freo & melb) for next year for our pick 4. If it were a team not likely finish top 4 next year you would have to consider. Is pick 4 worth picks 13,17,18 at worst? I’d prefer to keep pick 4 than live in regret if that pick becomes a star.

Re: When a Merchant Banker isn't meant as a joke

Hahaha. So in light of our recent adventures in selecting a new CEO; is there any standouts we should be looking at next which will improve our image?

Scomo has all the attributes for me. That could bring back the cool church groups to like us again

So is Essendon at risk of being bankrupted by the church?
To hell with the game I say

Re: When a Merchant Banker isn't meant as a joke

I haven’t heard anything public on this topic but is it possible that EFC have to pay Thorburn out for probation period or longer?

It just wouldn’t surprise me because guys like this are very smart with contracts and details like this.

Re: Coach for 2023???

Looking at this retrospectively, should Essendon have kept Rutten on as coach until they’d been able to lure an “Experienced coach”?

It’s sadly looking like we’re going down the same inexperienced type again because that’s all that’s on offer.

Re: Mid Season & End of Season Report Card 2022

Hobbs, Ambrosio & Martin have been great additions. We really need our top end draft picks to start their trajectory over the next 1-2 years. Cox, Reid, Jones need to have an injury free year and solidify their spots. They were hardly seen this year. Perkins is progressing well but having little...

Re: R23 Bombast v Tigers

… Rock bottom. I didn’t even feel this despondent during the supplants saga. Agree Windy, I’m still coming to grips with the fallout from last night. Could the Essendon board be suspended by the AFL for 12 months for bringing the game into disrepute? Their behaviour has damaged the brand for a long...

Re: R23 Bombast v Tigers

I’m sharing this for those who didn’t attend the game. The end of the half time entertainment which had an announcer tell the crowd to get excited because we’re in for a treat was hilariously concerning. They turned off all the lights while 4 flame throwers flared up at the city end while they playe...

There was 58,000 tonight mostly Richmond faithful and bombers attending for Hurley. Agree the Essendon members seats on L1 were quarter full. Wasn’t that much of a statement to Essendon. Watching this - https://twitter.com/7afl/status/1560965180674244610?s=21&t=9wBNNM8ECjX8lj1IOP2hrg - on the tr...

Re: EFC Fun Facts

I’m going to coin the phrase “depressendon” to describe the psychological response to our bewildering football club. Essing-done that's us and we will be in the wilderness for a long time if the club will not eat humble pie and clean up their own dirty mess. We need help to right our wrongs. If tpt...

Re: Heppell

Daisy, based on the clown show we’ve seen of the past 20 seasons. Xavier may react with a deal to counteract the Suns.
Maybe: Offer Heppell a 5 year deal as captain of Essendon to 2027, followed up with guaranteed head coaching succession role
