Re: This Shiela scares me.
It's not only Palin that scares me Filth, the whole Goddam country frightens the living daylights out of me. Did anyone catch Damien Kingsbury's comment last week on 774...apparently the red necks at Mc Cains rallys have been calling out "Kill Obama" and I think you could rest assured that...

Yeah, he's just what we need...Another injury prone couldabeen... let's give up one of our few non-injury prone match winners who's as quick off the mark as anyone in the AFL for him...after all he has been a naughty boy in committing the mortal sin of missing a couple of training sessions. It's not...

Re: Reserve Bank Cuts Rates By 100 points (1%)
There's no doubt about the Lib/Conservative Governments, they certainly know when NOT to be in power. They seem to have a sixth sense about it. Leaving Labor to carry the can for the country during the rough times in our history. You can go right back to WW2. Menzies couldn't get out fast enough whe...

That Rodent is back again...quick Filth get the Ratsack out....I thought we'd already sacked that Rat last Nov. So much for his parting statement that he would leave political commentary to others in his retirement....yet ANOTHER broken promise, the man just can't help himself. But why should we be ...

Yeah, huge names there Windy...right up there with the Barassi's Lockett's, Davi's, Wanganeen's, Merretts et al :) Re Judd to Carlton.Yep, despite the new communistic type drafting rules, the Blues, yet again, found a way...just like they always have, of landing the best footballers in the country. ...

Sticking to my guns here Swoods. You've centred your argument around Paul Salmon. Well let me say this...Yes, Salmon was long gone by then but it doesn't alter the thrust of my argument that he, along with all the other great champions that have been prematurely and might I say in most cases (in foo...

I note your arguments BD, Swoods and Mick. Re Terry Daniher when we got him from South I would only have rated him only in the Good Indian class, certainly AT THAT STAGE OF HIS CAREER, he was no super star. The same comment would not be unfair about his brothers IMHO. Re Paul Salmon, I have no doubt...

Nooooooo!!
Excellent career Pev old son. Got the best out of himself. Could find the pill, never gave up and was tough, and durable (which is more than you can say about a lot of them out there)
Congratulations Pev. However your name will still live on here at BT

Re: The damage done by Quinn.
The example I always refer to is Scott Camporeale. Hardly had an injury in over 200 game career with the Scum. Comes across to Essendon and does his hammy almost straight away. Something wrong there surely. The bloke I'm keeping my eye on now is Hansen at Norf cos it was seemingly a toss up between ...

When you look back at our history...it's been that way at Essendon for many, many years. In fact with very few exceptions it's all been one way traffic...the wrong way. We've lost one super star after another. I'll go right back to when I was old enough to take a serious interest in the Bombers...Bob ...

Re: Olympic underacheiving
Look out if the Poms ever get their act together on (and off) the cricket field. Their Olympic campaign has shown just what they are capable of on the sporting arena if they REALLY put their mind to it. We still exceed them in overall medal tally though which for a nation of our population is an ama...

Bah!!.... Seems we can talk the talk but just never seem to be able to actually walk the walk when it comes to recruiting coups. Like when Sheeds wanted to get Buddy and also Scotty West a few years back. Just pie in the sky stuff. All we ever seem to come up with are virtual has-beens with just the...

Re: The booing of Laycock
As I mentioned in another post I left very early so wasn't there to witness it but were they actually booing Laycock off the ground or the team in general. Cos it it was the team, that aint new. The wholesale booing off of the team at the breaks as well as at full time during the 70's was quite comm...

Re: Injuries worse ever in our History?
Just Sooo f***'n demoralising. When I saw Dempsey hobble off the ground after only 3% game time. I just lost all interest in the game. I just thought Oh No!! ...not again. Then when Fletch went down not long after that was it for me. I hate to admit it but I left the ground the earliest I've ever do...

Re: hindsight played lucas?
We're still crap when we haven't got the ball. That's been painfully obvious even on our good days. We allow even weak teams like Melbourne (not to mention West Coast yesterday) to just waltz through our backline and score all too easy goals. We have improved a bit in that area but still a lot of wo...

Heard him being interviewed last week after he'd played a pretty good game against the Dees (and in a Lucasless forward line too I might add) He made an interesting comment, almost as an aside I thought. He said something like "Yeah I went alright today, sometimes you can get caught a bit "...

And the other point re Jobes possies...Don't forget to check the "TOG" column. Last week he got his 41 touches and was only on the ground for 72% of the game. ie. he played less than three quarters of footy. That's a touch in less than every 2 mins of playing time....Amazing stat
