Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but if my memory serves, I can recall Timmy's kicking not being exactly spot on in his early days...just like his son's atm. As for playing too many talls, as I've said on here recently Sheedy's obsessed with them, always has been. I think it goes back to his Richmon...

Not that I think Peter Somerville was in the same class as Hille (in general around the ground play that is) but I think you can draw a parallel between them purely as ruckmen and their effect on the balance of the side. I know Somer had plenty of knockers (myself included) but I always reckoned tha...

Bradley...rested on the weekend...ran out of legs today??? I've repeated this ad-nauseam I know but I'm going to say it again because the relevance of it just keeps on being reinforced at the team's great cost...Sheedy, and no one else, ruined this lad last year...for good, it would appear. I think ...

How is McKinnon going in the Magoos? He's the tallest player on the list and got a few mentions in despatches (no Anzac day pun intended...ah hell yeah why not :) in the pre-season games. I know he's on the rookie list but Neagle is out long term and I haven't heard of anyone else being promoted to ...

Personally, I'm pleasantly surprised at Sheed'y comments. He generally lays all the smoke screens he can and looks to lay blame for his coaching failures on everyone or everything except the one place he should look...in the mirror.

A very rare and welcome sign of contrition from Sheeds IMO.

The duel that's got me most worried is Sheedy v Lyon. From what I've read Lyon was the architect behind Sydney's game plan. The master of the shutting down tactics. Going to be a real test for Sheeds I reckon. It always amazes me how the duel of the coaches is never brought into calculations when ev...

I'm hoping the whole 06 season will have the same affect as the 99 PF. with last Sats result serving s a nasty little reminder.

Who would you bring in off the rookie list now. Haven't seen him in action at all myself yet, but what about McKinnon. Got some good reports in some of the pre-season games and boy, do we need some boosting in the ruck department. He's the tallest player on our list at 206cm 6'9" in the old lan...

Was unfortunate enough to have been there yesterday. At Quarter time I commented to the bloke sitting next to me "Gee, I hope they haven't spent all their pennies in this heat" And when the score line at the first break was 7 goals "9" for crying out loud, I was reminded of the R...

Yep, definitely a case of Sheedy being outcoached again IMO. Fell for the same old trick again of leaving his selected full back on Fevola til it was too late, just like he did with Reynolds last year, when again Fevola was their match winner with 7 (actually I reckon Joel Reynolds would be allowing...

Yes, very interesting read there from Hirdy. Lots of Bomber stuff in the Hun today...Lloydy's right footer, even if it was just a reverse print and of course I just loved that famous B&W photo of the great JC under the heading of Memorable Debuts, recalling his 12 goals in his very first game. T...

They kicked 9 between tham on Sunday, if they can average near that most games I'll be very happy. I don't care how it comes 5/4 to Lloydy, 6/3 to Scotty or even 8/1 to whichever. I'm sure each will prove a great foil for the other and will take the one dimensional play out of our game plan that has...

And we were actually hitting targets on a pretty consistent basis...unbelievable. I personally think that that was the most noticable difference from last year. and it's the skill that can make ALL the dif IMHO Who is the skills coach this year? cos if we keep hitting targets like that for the remai...

I know everyone is taking it as a 'given' that Fletcher to CHB will automatically solve the huge problem we have there, but I'm yet to be convinced. Look at how easily Carlton dealt with that situation in the NAB cup, his man just took him out of the play all too often and all too easily. Hate to sa...

That's right Filth, I don't hate AmericanS as such. Wasn't aware I'd been banging on all THAT much about it Jimmy, after all I'm only up to 68 posts now (the majority of which would be about footy) and only Top up Player status which pales into insignificance compared to some... yourself for example, what is it... 1908 posts and a Regular Senior Play...

Can remember Ron and Ken Fraser coming across from the Essendon District Footy League together.(a great recruiting ground for the Dons back then) Wasn't a bad forward line back then with Frizza at CHF and Ron at FF.

RIP Ron...Gone too soon.
