Re: Essendon v Hawthorm Match Thread

Geoff Raines was an important signing in 1986. As was Tilbrook, Pitura, Hamill, Fevola, Harry Kewell, Mitch Clark.

Re: Essendon v Hawthorm Match Thread

Re: The Worst Call You Have Ever Made on Bombertalk

Three I believed would make it were Anton Grbac, Sam Hunt (3 games) and Lachlan Ross (2).

Re: Angry!!!

It is difficult to understand the sudden fall. Perhaps Hird's inexperience and his unknown reaction to defeat/s are/will be major factors at play. I hope he doesn't start finding people to blame. He must embrace the Tom Hafey philosophy after a defeat: "They wanted the ball more than us." ...

Memo Adrian Dodoro re Dec 7th

We must PSD a ruckman . Two and a half (Ryder a little reluctant to ruck sometimes) ruckman is NOT going to get through an AFL season, especially with Hille's and Bellchambers' injury histories. Add Hille and tribunal troubles. We will be a laughing stock when no one to ruck. Need a ruck also in Ro...

Player development. What has gone wrong?

Of the 15 players drafted under pick 40, (our best chances for future team success) in the 2000 to 2005 drafts, eight have already been sacked , three are playing for Bendigo and of the remaining four, three are yet to establish themselves as regulars. This group should be the backbone of our team. ...

Record after mid-season signing of our coach

With Kevin Sheedy there's an inverse relationship between the rhetoric and the performance: when we're doing worst is when he talks the greatest amount of crap, and now that we're doing better, he's very much keeping focussed on the week ahead and no further. Best of all, he's not even talking about...

one list player short in '07

Noticed in lists (today's H-Sun) we are one of only 4 clubs with reduced list of 43, including rookies. Is this because of salary cap issues again? If Hird and Fletcher are veterans, why haven't we 40 on primary list?

Windy, you're too tough on Paul Hamilton. He beat Brereton each time he played on him, something Walsh never did. Why KS continually played Walsh on Brereton is the unfathomable. In addition, Hamilton broke even with his opponent in the 90 GF, one of only three to do it. He played as a checking HFF ...

Ealesy, you're right with McAllister. Although he only played 6 games he was kept on list for 6 years and was drafted at # 6 by Kevin himself : "I want to be the first person to coach a Maori" (Refer Tim's book The Jigsaw Man). Chris Daniher who played his 100th game when 30 years old (11 ...

Kevin Sheedy's All-Time Favorites team

Compiling a team of Kevin's all-time favorites - players who were selected/carried because of favored treatment. Need help to flesh out team, but these are locked in . Preferably players who played 5 years or 50 games. These players were snuck back in a late change, did not have to play well in seco...
