Topic: strategy to eliminate or reduce flooding - makes sense

It's flawed. So a team who predominantly plays at Teltra Dome is hugely advantaged because they are protected from the elements, and other grounds may in fact be smaller. It's not a level playing field because most rounds are played over 3 or 4 days and in different states in different conditions. ...

This is a great proposal - does not mess with the rules but changes the coaching strategies. Total point scored is better than margin (as I believe ross suggested) because it gives a reward for kicking goals regardless of outcome. If you only reward the point difference you do not discourage flooding.

Football stats - damn lies or hidden wisdom

I do have a love-hate feeling for sport stats. I love stats because quantitative data enhances the understanding of the game (surely) and once enjoyment (maybe); I hate stats because stats are easily misleading and can flatly be misused. My focus in this post is to consider how well the performance ...

No such thing as an easy game in the AFL so I am always worried. I expect the boys to be mentally ready but tired. I expect Port to try very very hard. It will be close. Essendon by 1 point.

Re: Partners

It absolutely shits me the way our language has been hijacked by political correctness. Can't even say you want a coke without people looking funny at you. Maybe we should be wary of the new political correctness that systematically criticizes political correctness (I know it is not you Filt...

If we go in the game thinking that we will trash Port we are in for a serious disappointment - like the Carlton game. Hopefully our players -and our coach - know better now. I we get our mind to do whatever it takes to win we should prevail, but expecting an easy win is a receipe for disaster. Indee...

Seriously the AFL had officially declared that Judd and a few other "protected" players NEVER hold the ball. Indeed a f****** disgrace.

Hopefully the population of "ex Australian Prime Ministers" will increase by one in the near future. You would not want the species to disappear.

Re: Australian Capital Reserve collapse

Those Westpoint, Fincorp and ACR investor's were ill-informed (their fault) and/or greedy (their fault). They also either don't read history and therefore learnt nothing from Estate Mortgage or chose to ignore it. Talking about history this happened before... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savings_an...

He has been abysmal this season. Doesn't look fit and doesn't look interested. This is Round 10, and he aint fit????? SNAP OUT OF IT, FFS!!!! Bit harsh, but I completely agree. Laycock was quite good in '05 and mostly injured in '06. Hopefully he can get back on track because there are not that man...

We should put him on rolling one year contracts like McVeigh. There are some legends that never die. McVeigh said in 2003 that he liked one year contracts because it kept the pressure up. This was four years ago . In 2004 he played well was offered a two years contract and took it. In 2006 he was o...
