I fear for the club if shortsighted people like some BT'ers are ever on the recruiting team. Let me start off by admitting I have no idea how good any of the kids in the draft are and that i bet half the people who say they do have some idea are working off no more than heresay from frieds, newpape...

All previous reports I had read were saying how he had turned it around, was committed to his football and may be considered in the PSD. Going on this info I was of the view we shoud consider, even though I know we probably wouldnt. However, clearly his club's view is that he is still as fat, lazy a...

I know he is quick and an exciting ball carrier but does he have foot skills. I still think what we lack most of all is polished disposal. Not concerned if he has lost a yard or so due to the knee as long as 1. He is fit to play and will not spend a season on the sidelines and 2. he can find the bal...

Because in his first year Cupido showed more skill than 75% of the players currently on our list. Which is why he is such a contentious issue. Actually Id go as far to say he is a more naturally gifted footballer than anyone on our list except Hird. Mind you he is faster and a bigger kick than Hird...

IMO the only one that got away was 1999 and if we won that would we have been as good as we were in 2000? It's a question that cant be answered. But in direct context to the topic, Sheedy should have won 25 GF's could have won every time we made the finals but ultimately has won 4 and whilst im eage...

If Carlton take Gibbs then we will take Hansen. We need a CHB/FB, Hansen is the best key position backman in the draft. Gumbleton might be a better player but he's more a CHF. Look to Selwood as a smokey...highly rated but coming back from a knee reco. Would've gone number 1 easily last year if he ...

I have to agree with Rosso!! f*** I hate tall poppy syndrome!! Not defending Fev in particular, but geez have a look at the bar tender does he look like he got hit (not including the ugly stick)? If fev wanted to hit the little lepechaun he woulda f***** damaged him. Similar small dust ups occur eve...

JJ in front of Baker? Fair enough. . I think alot of people underrate how good JJ has been for our Club. Actually of the 3 central midfield roles, he was second picked behind only Timmy for my side. Not many midfielders had the capacity to rack up 30 odd posessions, kick goals from well outside 50 ...

Backs: Vanderhaar, Fletch, M Thomson Fletch and Thommo were obvious, two of the best last line defenders in the history of the club. Vanderhaar was an excitement machine who could play both forward and back, I start with hm down back as I prefer other options up forward. Half Backs: Wanganeen, M Har...

Our real need is CLASS. Then a Key defender. We can play Lucus down back, but we have no real class in the midfield to speak of without a massive improvement from Dyson and Winderlich. As we found out last year, we cant rely on Campo and Hird to provide all our deliveries to our forward 50 and as su...

Not looking that far ahead. Im more concerned about 2007 and unlike most, havnt given up hope that 2007 is the year our young fellas step up and we become the dominant force we should be, with the likes of Dempsey, NLM, Lovett, Monfries, Winderlich etc. fulfilling or surpassing all expectations. Tak...

also the midfield needs to be alot smarter about how they play there opponent, its all well and good if you can provide run and collect the ball all day but its no good if your opponent is raking up just as many posessions and setting up/scoring goals. Spot on. In the first half of our second game ...

Does anyone actually rate Ackland? If he was any good, he would still be on St Kilda's list considering their ruck stocks aint exactly that high. He had an excellent 2005 but a woeful 2006. He had injury concerns early, missed the preseason, lost his spot as no.1 ruck and wasn't exactly given a vot...

Actually there is one thing I dont like about this draw and its not regarding us in particular. Why is it, the AFL tries to balance the interstate trips for clubs which have SOLD their games interstate. I dont understand how clubs like the Hawks, Kangaroos, Melbourne and the Dogs have just 4-6 inter...

Couldn't care less about the draw. If we are good enough we will make the 8, if we are not we wont. After wasting the dream draw from last season by coming 2nd last, maybe a season of games against quality opposition is exactly what we need to turn this team around. As for Hirds retirement, He may n...
