Re: Is the sub rule going to save NLM

Difficult to say at this point, because who is know whether he would have been selected under the previous interchange arrangements? That bit of pointless speculation to one side, of those players who previously contested for the 4th spot on the interchange, the substitute rule will probably benefit...

Re: Well Done Muppets

An insipid and pitiful 'effort' even considering it was possibly the worst side selected this year. I don't think the year has been a complete waste - yet, but it will be if we lose the last four games badly, which we will if we select the same or similar team and demonstrate the same lack of endeav...

Re: Changes for Sydney-hard but fair

Absent some injuries I'm not sure its necessary to make 4 or 5 changes this week.

McVeigh and Watson (if fit) and maybe one more depending on Monfries' fitness and whether one of Watson/McVeigh is a direct swap for the injured AM.

Re: Sad but true

In relation to the "big picture" and the future of Lucas, I think sometimes with older player you need to be very careful not to retire them off too early. Isnt it possible just to have a poor year at 31? He definately had a poor year in 2001, but he was only 23 then, so no one mentioned ...

Re: Scotty's cycle has been broken...

Scotty's cycle has been broken.... Conundrum! If his poor form caused by lack of conditioning, revived his career can be; but if caused by permanent loss of agility/pace, in trouble he is. Bendigo - poor team in competion far inferior; dubious that playing for them will lead to improvement. Will pla...

Re: Fletcher May Miss 8 Weeks

Fletcher may miss 8 weeks. F*ck! Significant loss. Match-ups itself not an issue; Lanky unlikely to have played on Buddy, Roughead, Reiwolt - Pears/Daniher/Hurley these roles set for. Loss of experience, skill, composure in defence irreplaceable. Next month ugly could be. Me? Glass half full; maybe ...

NLM...

Frustrating!

Plodder.

Mediocre skill. Decision-making; weak. Improvement? doubtful

Obvious role in the team? To me seems not.

Scapegoat? No. Symptom of our problems? Yes.

Perhaps might be a pet selection in a good team. EFC no such luxury.

Re: Chocco goes troppo

Chocco makes a sound case.

Perhaps he should have pondered this a couple of years ago when he personally lobbied the AFL to introduce 'tougher' rules for head high contact.

Re: From the old BT Days - Interstate trips.

The game was close all night, and as per usual in Sydney we got our normal but ******* from the maggots Never!! a big dud had a chance to steal the game for Sydney in the last minute, but he kicked a point from about 30 out straight in front lamentably, despite the wishes of some we missed the oppo...

Re: C.J.

Courtney might get 2 or 3 more games this year - I suspect this will be because of injuries, rather than his form and/or ability justifying selection. He doen't have an obvious position that justifies his selection before somebody else. He doesn't have the agility or nous to play against most of the...

Too true!

In a similar vein I was thinking that perhaps there is something similar in relation to Rule 19.2.2 (reportable offences and striking) and Adam Goodes?

I don't have a problem with the AFL investigating potential new locations for a football team. However, the number of clubs should not rise above the current level. If the AFL wants to introduce a club into a new area it has to be as a result of an existing team: (a) relocating; (b) going bust; (c) ...

Ray Horsborough - I dont know if you have been paying attention Sir, but this club does not air its dirty laundry in public. You have made your decision, now fking show some leadership, and live with it. The media does not deserve any more comment on why Sheedy was sacked, and if you have any brain...

They have been unfit in the past but in my ill-informed laymens perspective, I'm not sure that is the problem at the moment is fitness per se. I think we lack players with the physical attributes neccesary for the current style of football - this is more a selection and recruitment issue. Not too me...

Vlad and Anderson narrowly define "tanking" as players deliberately losing or being instructed to lose by the coach/club administration. Off course no club or player would be stupid enough to admit this, however, there is more than one way to skin a cat as the cliche goes and so there is m...

They will try and get it downgraded to reckless. That will get him under the 100 points. That's true, they will try, but the reality is that he charged straight at the bloke. Not in the course of play, just randomly. Its intentional. I don't think it is simply a case of deliberately running into a ...

They only have to let play continue for a matter of seconds, if that, to see whether a single kick (such as that taken by Thomas tonight) is of advantage or not. If it went through for a behind then give Rocca the free. If it goes through for a goal, pay it. It's not rocket science, although those ...
