Re: ESSENDON Anniversary Reflections - 1949 PREMIERS

We sunk to 5 - 6 during the season, our lowest ebb after getting Thumped by the Cats at Kardinya Park by 95 points. We started the season with a Bang, going 3 - 0,with a skinny kid called John Coleman kicking a Goal with his 1st kick in the opening seconds of the game, before finishing with an incredibl...

ESSENDON Anniversary Reflections - 1949 PREMIERS

Time for a Salute to this team, having Lost the previous 2 Flags in agonising fashion, after a Magnificent Flag in 1946. We know who stepped on our door after the dreadfull 7.27 in The Drawn Grand Final and subsequent loss in the replay, after losing Wally Buttsworth through a most untimely injury. Bet...

Re: Don’t forget your Powerball Ticket/s!

Not a zack my way.Big man upstairs must look at your’s truly and say,”not a cracker for this TAB mug!” 8) So,I’ve boxed in 8,9,10 and 14 for a 10.41% Trifecta in the main event at Gold Coast, depicted our way as BR.Brisbane Racing!Put a Bob each way on the last 3 at Fixed odds.Same thing for la...

Re: Mitchell Gone

Yeah, extremely bad luck for Tom there.Hope his recovery is quick, but smooth.Get the DVD’s out, grab a milkshake or 2 and enjoy them for a while, son. Hard luck for Punters who may have put money on him in the Brownlow,if it’s an All In.Even with an injury,I’m not sure they’ll get their money ba...

Re: THE DROUGHT

Dramatic is one way of putting it,Windy.Depressing also, given it happened against the NKOTB Marlins.I knew how worse it may have been for Indian supporters,in a real and fictitious sense. :-&

Re: THE DROUGHT

Very depressing thing,Droughts.

9ers are at 24 years,Knicks over 40.Hell,the Cubs went 107 years from 1909 - 2015.Very depressing for anyone who went close to it.Only 31 for me,which was hard enough,especially in 2003. #-o :-&

Whenever he came over, unfortunately he didn’t last too long.

I don’t recall him making any impact at Essendon.

Another Kid with Potential,....

Re: ESSENDON Anniversary Reflections 1993

Russ Williams came over in ‘94.

The 1st 3(not without a spot of talent)were traded to new Club Fremantle which delivered 1 Mathew Lloyd.

You know the rest of that story. :D

Re: THE DROUGHT

Yep,Larry Watson and friends did deliver the Flag in style that year. If memory serves,Rick Davies and Sturt seemed to be all the rage, thanks mainly to Davies kicking 150 that year. Davies had already stamped himself as a Sturt Legend in a previous Grand Final, with a For the Ages Virtusoso performan...

Re: Australia v India Test Series 2018/19

Coin toss or not,we have deservedly been outplayed. Certainly agree on S.Marsh.But you know the drill. If he gets even 30 or 40,he’ll probably be safe for another couple of Tests. Then he’ll probably play like a colossus against those perennial Giants Sri Lanka, score 2 or 3 Centuries and get his pass...

Re: Australia v India Test Series 2018/19

Whatever the conditions Ben,we have been seriously outplayed.

The weather in Sydney the past 2 days has let us off the hook.India could have had this Test Won by now without it.

Re: Australia v India Test Series 2018/19

Australia 6 - 236. Lengthy Rain delay at the SCG,means Kohli can’t muck about by batting again. If India has the option of enforcing the follow on,they can’t muck about. They have to send us back in again if they want to Win with time to spare. I’ll be staggered if they don’t,which begs the question ...

Re: Don’t forget your Powerball Ticket/s!

It comes in many shapes, but the anti gambling lobbyists never seem to worry about the many who spend copious amounts of their hard earnt on Lotto.

I suppose because there are no Horses or Dogs involved, they find plenty of time to bitch and moan at those industries.

Re: f*** off..c***

I’m sure there’s other means for AWFULL to fall flat on their face. Don’t know the picture your way,but I’m ever so curious to know what they extracted from the WA State Givernment out of the Perth Stadium deal they did, which of course,is in commercial confidenc.Taxpayers wouldn’t normally cop that,...

Re: THE DROUGHT

Need to make finals, need to win a final, and sometimes it's losing the biggest final. Winning a flag with no prior winning finals experience is the stuff of fairytales and has already been done by Richmond 2 years back. I'll be stoked if we can win Anzac day, both Carlton & Collingwood games, and ...
