Re: Basher Houli

According to Matthew Lloyd he was sent back to the twos for persistently kicking it long instead of looking to see if there was a better option. If Friday was not a fluke, it seems to have worked; his judgement as to when to chip or handball short and when to kick long, either to an unmarked team ma...

How could that be?
It's a fact. He has always been rested previously, rather than played with Bendigo.

Re: Selection day again...

Yes, Carlisle and Still would be killed if played now, they shouldn't even be playing VFL really. Hardingham is worth a try. He butchers the ball a fair bit (so he should fit in right away) but, on the positive side, he's strong, good in the air and prepared to take the game on. He has a surprising ...

Re: redemption

He is toast if we finish bottom; otherwise he just might survive as long as we don't get a 20 goal flogging from one of the top 4 contenders.

Re: The 70's

Our amateurish administration was the worst aspect of the '70s. On field, we always had a nucleus of experienced players with over 100 games behind them and still playing well enough to provide a bit of leadership. This we no longer have. The lack of leaders was glaringly apparent yesterday. Colyer ...

Re: Hurley rumour...

A knee clean up will put him out for 4-6 weeks - still, better that than risking long term damage. We aint winning much in the next 2 months whether Hurley is in the team of not. I want to see how Still, Daniher, Neagle and Laycock can go before the year is out and this may be the opportunity Still...

Jonathan Robran does not deserve to be in that side considering the material you have to choose from.

Re: What has happened to the game ?

From Adrian Anderson's comments on Offsiders last Sunday, it looks likely that the AFL will do something about the interchange rule soon, possibly even next year. Studies are showing that as the number of interchanges rises so does the injury rate and they realise they have to slow the game down a b...
