Re: Would you trade Lloyd or Lucas?
No, not unless they ask to be traded. Never treat your club icons with disrespect, it rips the heart out of the club.

Re: Six Degrees of Separation
How good a nickname is commotion? ******* brilliant. It was because of the effect on the crowd whenever he took a speccie. From Flying Higher: "But the year [1886] was not completely uneventful. The club had the honour of possessing the player who was chosen as 'The Best in the Colony'. Charle...

Re: Six Degrees of Separation
Syd Carman and Frank Nash both started in 1926 and played with Dick Reynolds in 1933. Clyde Donalson from the 1926 side started in 1913. William Griffth from 1913 started in 1899. Charles "Tracker" Forbes from 1899 started in 1889. Charlie "Commotion" Pearson (who invented the hi...

Re: Silly thought really....
In a perverse Sheedy-esk way I haven't looked forward to a Bomber game so much since we last played finals. This is real back-to-the-wall stuff. Can't wait!!!!! GO BOMBERS!!!!!!! BTW - I believe the 1977 contest was at Windy Hill. We were 27 points down at 3 quarter time and Van der Harr and Watson...

Re: No Reward for Effort
Shouldn't cost us anything unless he abused them. The captain is allowed to approach the umpires.Malky wrote:Are we going to take bets on how much Lloyd's theatrics at quarter time is going to cost us?
I'll say $10,000 - and just because it's Essendon, double it, none of it suspended!

Re: will knights ring the changes?
Anyone that suggests that JJ should get a game this week needs help... Serious Don't get me wrong the guy has been a star for the bomber and played many big games very well... But so has James Hird I take it he has been struggling in the magoos? It was really, really sad watching him on Saturday. H...

A very insensitive comment, even for him. I think Rama is in our best 22 but is starting to look a bit tired. A couple of weeks off might recharge his batteries.

Re: Another Draw = Another Stupid Debate
I strongly support the status quo, particularly with respect to draws during the season. I could cope with extra time in the Grand Final but would prefer it left alone. Anyway, I am sure the AFL would be quite happy about a draw in the GF; just think of the extra revenue a replay brings.

Seriously outside of us getting into the 8(and so on), this will be the highlight of the year.
How is the weather in Melbourne? I reckon we are a shot if it is dry.....speed kills

Bob Shearman died some time ago now. I can't remember precisely when but I think it was somewhere around 1995. I recall that he was in his middle to late 50's and as he was born in 1938 that seems about right. I do know that he was on holiday in France at the time. Shearman played 64 games for Essen...
