Re: Matty Knight take a Bow

Yes, when we win, all the back slapping appears. When we lose, the knives come out..... Well, it has never been about winning in my oppinion, it was all about gameplan, accountability and selection. IMO, everything that I was furious about early on has or is being addressed. Even if we are l...

Re: Matty Knight take a Bow

I'd also like to add I was damning of Knights not using pev or JJ early in the season with the firm oppinion that they could add balance to our team which is now full of running players but lacking in support for Watson and McVeigh in the packs. Again my oppinion has been substantiated with Pev cont...

Re: Matty Knight take a Bow

I have to admit, I am impressed and delightedly surprised at the recent turnaround. Early season I had knights down as a hack, his mistakes obvious, his gameplans lack of accountability a discrace. Whilst I stand by my oppionion of early season strategies and some clear terrible positioning of certa...

Re: Pev Must Not Play Again

I'm all for kids getting games, but if they're not available (and they're not) then Pev had every reason to be playing against Freo. He made a good account of himself - as he always does. He may well make way for Houli, Hislop, Hocking or whoever else may be available in 2 weeks time, but that does...

Re: The Ages Top 50 of all time

Paul Kelly over Voss in my opinion. And how many premierships did PK Captain?? Voss was miles superior as a player and captain and he has the record to prove it. In fact Paul kelly would have had a hard time making it into the starting 4 of the prized midfield that Voss was the No.1 figure i...

Re: Yes. another topic on it.. Ladder Predictor/Race for final 8

Might be my hatred for everything black and white, but I think the big downhill rider is going to be Collingwood. With Rocca gone for the season, what was a difficult forward line to contain with two man mountains in rocca and cloak has got that little bit easier. With Sydney twice, Adelaid and the ...

Re: Has Welsh finally found his best role?

Great job tagging one of the best there is. Not to take anything away from another successful shutdown but in this case I think he owes Matty a Breezer. That bump knocked the begeezes out of Judd and he didn't seem totally aware that he was at the MCG for the rest of the match. Really set up the gam...

Re: Rama

I love the guy and am in awe of his ability to come back from cancer twice to play football again. But in my oppinion he is too slow and soft and lacks physical capacity to compete at AFL level. Wouldnt get a spot in any other team and probably doesn't deserve a spot in ours on ability alone. Wheth...

Re: Are we a top 8 proposition next year?

I hope so and think we are a chance, but lets face it we go backwards again after next year so in my oppinion it is our best chance we will have for at least 3 years. By 2010 we lose Fletch leaving a massive hole in defence and I dont see anyone developing into that position in 2 years time especial...

Re: AFL Fails to Create an Equal Compeition

In the past 20 years, 13 different teams have played off in a grand final and in the last 10 years - every side has played in a preliminary final. I reckon the draft and salary cap is giving everyone a crack at the cup at some point or another. I guess his main concern in within a single season - i...

Re: We'll Beat Hawthorn

I'm supremely confident. Paddy to Franklin. Fletch to Roughie. Croad to Lucas? Gonna go have a flutter. Anyone know our odds? At the moment, even if we played the way we did against Adelaide, we will be lucky to get within 30 points . For mine, I reckon we should be between $3.50 & $5.00 ...

Re: McVeigh article in the hun.

I put Johns in a very different category to Rama. Rama's a premiership player with lots of credit points in the bank who's very well respected around the club; Johns is a 23 year old who's done nothing of note. Rama's best was very good and quite consistent; Johns' best is just OK and rarely appear...

5. Sack Knights 6. Appoint Andrewb as coach Good logical thoughts andrew, not rocket science, but apparently far to advanced for our current senior coach who is happy to 1. rotate players through positions they are not and will never be any good at 2. apply an offense and risk at all cost policy wit...

Re: Dear Mr Knights

Nice work Gring, spot on on most counts IMO. JJ may be finished, but mosts our guys have and never will even get started. Rather carry an old broken warrior who know's no other way than to be hard at it, than a bunch of soft boy's who not only wont get down and dirty, but butcher the ball just as ba...

Re: Natrat on Richo

Richo would have to be my favourite player out of all of the players outside of Essendon. He always gives 110% and I'm very worried about how we will keep him quiet. NLM might be OK but Flether will need to double team and hold Nathan's hand every step of the way. They would be the only two defende...

Re: Trade Lloydy - Even I wouldn't go that far!!!

I'd trade him if we could, but i don't think he'd be worth much anymore. He still could be a good player for another team, but he is wasting away with the delivery we are providing him. Would we get a 2nd round pick for him and would we take it? Methinks we will hold onto him as he has been a club ...

Re: Bottom 4 to Flag

We dont have a stand out atm, but thats not to say that one of our current crop might step up as the next A list player in the afl. I think the 22-26 year old guys we are looking at to step into the 'A' list today wont make it. Monfries, Stanton, Dyson, Slattery,Watson etc. will never be 'A' list pl...
