Re: Never leave early.
I don't often get to the footy any more with a young family etc and I'm always spewing that I miss out on the occasional great game. Got last minute tickets for the game on Saturday and all I can say is that I'm soooo glad I stayed till the end and took in that victory.. I swear we were all off our ...

Re: Anzac Day Clash: Essendon vs Collingwood Preview
I reakon the wet weather only plays in Collingwoods favour in terms of our game plan which involves over using the ball. Player wise I think we have the edge. Don't think Collingwood actually have a lot of mudrunners... I only rate Swan and Pendlebury in that area the rest are downhill skiers. As fo...

Would like to see the following Out : Dyson, Skip, Irishman In: Houli, Myers, Lonergan I reakon McFee and Lucas will be watched closely this week. Apard from Lloyd's effort against Carlton we have had nothing out ...

Re: The Reason Behind Hardwick Missing The Job....
Funny - I read this the other day... it leaves me with mixed feelings... Just because you stuff up a power point presentation and can't get the laptop working doesn't mean you will be a bad AFL coach. Surely this wasn't such a big deciding factor. Also consider that Hardwick had premiership experien...

Re: Selection Dilema!
Even though McFee has been great for us this year.. I can see someone like Myers becoming a much better player possibly in the same mould as McFee by playing out of defence of up forward. McFee is definitely ahead at the moment but I would prefer to get some more games in Myers. Same with Zaka and H...

Re: Heath Hocking
With all the players to come back in there will be some big decisions to make. For mine only Watson and McVeigh are automatic. Welsh was a gun last year and beat nearly all the best midfeilders including Simon Black and Sam Mitchell towards the end of the year. So I think if he can get back to that ...

Don't know if you guys remember the tip top ad featuring Dermie kinking a goal in the 85 grandfinal.. but I was sitting behind goals as a 10 year old and just about marketed that ball ... but about 25 drunk hooligans smashed me and my Dad in the back... What a great game. My dad got free tickets ear...

Re: World Cup Qualification Thread
Just because we've qualified doesn't mean we'll do anything at the world cup ....It's awesome that we are going to qualify but I can't help wishing that we are good enough to make something of it when we are there. Like we did last time ! THis interview by Craig Foster is pretty interesting consider...

The root of our problems : Center Half Forward
From the games that I have watched recently our biggest problem seems to be that we are breaking down across CHF. I agree that the midfield has been beaten but to me the real problem is CHF. We literally break down there 80% of the time and it then often leads to strong counter attack. I've been try...

Re: andrewb's thoughts on the game
Agree with your thoughts Andrew. I think Myers will have a role to play in the midfield and Welshy andMcVeigh will also strengthen things up. As you point out we are breaking down badly across CHF. I'm going to start a thread on this.

Re: World Cup Qualification Thread
Just thought that I would revive this thread. Tommorow night could well and truly be it !. Then we can start a new thread for World Cup Preparations.
I'd love to see Kennedy and Scotty Mac playing up front tommorow night. I'm sick of this lone striker rubbish.

I reakon we felt it really strongly..the whole house was shaking . My wife and I looked at each other. At first I thought it was a huge truck pulling up in our driveway and then realised it was shaking everywhere. My 7 year old got out of bed and came running down the passage way. Really freaky. Re: Zone breaking rules / tactics in other sports
Agree with Andrew. Played basketball for a long time and heaps of basketball tactics have become part of football. Especially the blocking and zoning off. The way to break that down in basketball is as you say ball movement, movement off the ball and setting picks. Even the language used by commenta...

Re: Forum Re-Structure
I support the motion. I'm also interested in what target market our forum fills. For example why do people use bombertalk rather than bomberblitz ? What makes BT unique..? Is it just a community from the old efc board that have stuck together or is there something more ? Personally I love to read al...
