Re: why is it?
we need positive publicity and a good image from the public as we can't rely on growing our membership base the way we've been travelling last few years. take a look at all of the Friday night fixtures we've had and I'd bet we'll have won more of them than we've lost (and rarely been thrashed). Why?...

Re: Essendon v Carlton Pre-Match Discussion
you know what you can do with your obsession with the Dogs! Dogs can and most likely WILL finish 5th (and I'll be rooting for Fremantle too). Dogs won't beat Cats (heck they lost to Pies TWICE, Hawks, Saints and US), will be lucky to beat the Crows over there (with a farewell for McLeod) and WON'T b...

Re: Essendon v Carlton Pre-Match Discussion
Don't be sure of anything YET.
Could win 3 of 4 and play the Dogs.
Could win 4 of 4 and play the Hawks.
Could win 1 or 2 of 4 and have to contend with following the Bendigo Bombers ONLY during the finals.

Re: why is it?
To be fair, Richmond and Melbourne have been down for so long that a hint of success is naturally going to attract more media attention. Not to mention that their fans have been showing more passion than ours , who have mainly been concerned with the perceived failings of Knights. Remind me the las...

why is it?
that whenever we win a game the focus (from media outlets) is how poor the opposition is? win this week it will be same as they'll be tearing down Visy Park. YET Richmond win and they bang on about their passionate 19K fans who rock up to the G, how they sing their song with GUTSO. Melbourne win and...

Wash your mouth out. It's never over until it's OVER!robrulz5 wrote:These are always tough games, regardless of who is favourite they are usually 50-50. We can't make the finals but if we could harm the scums chances it would be awesome!

Re: Essendon v Carlton Pre-Match Discussion
Players who played in Round 3 this year that WON'T or SHOULDN'T play this week: Mark Williams (kicked 4 goals - leading goal kicker on the night) Scott Gumbleton (injured) Andrew Welsh (VFL) Henry Slattery (injured) Nathan Lovett-Murray (VFL - possible inclusion) Ricky Dyson (VFL? injured) Tayte Pea...

Re: Essendon v Carlton Pre-Match Discussion
Can't believe the MCG website is predicting 67K for this game. Our numbers have dropped dramatically and Carlton fans are furious and walking away from the game in droves too. Reckon we'd be doing well to get 60K this week. All the neutrals will attend the Geelong V Collingwood on Saturday night. WI...

Re: this time last year
It is clearly a case of confidence. Both periods where we were poor this year we lost a few in a row. We did not have the experience to dig ourselves out as easily. The game against North was a better win than the Saints IMO for this very reason. They had to tough it out after weeks of performing b...

Re: Is it 5 or 6?
How could we be equal 7th when both Carlton and Sydney are on 9 wins (36pts) and if we beat Carlton we'll be on 8 wins (32pts)???

Re: Is it 5 or 6?
Without getting ahead of myself a win against Carlton would set us up for a MASSIVE game against the Pies the following week (who will be coming off a gruelling game against the Cats with a days less break). Will our fans show up this week? 37K against the Saints was disappointing. Will the Blues fa...

Re: this time last year
their attitude sucked during the West Coast and Melbourne games and Adelaide/Geelong were disasters BUT we are yet to develop depth to cover losing players like Fletcher (when suspended twice), Monfries (who provides regular output in our forward line - and a decent opponent) and Hille (who we misse...

this time last year
We were only one win better off (8 wins). Why does it feel as though this year has been a hell of a lot worse though? We've had a tough fixture (in comparision to last year), injuries and suspensions at the wrong time and have lost a number of players with experience (Lloyd, Lucas, Lovett and McPhee...

Re: Is it 5 or 6?
Don't forget the worst fixture by far of any club , eg playing the pussies twice in 11 weeks & not even playing the lions until round 21. Conspiricy theories again ... sure we got a shocker draw ... but with 7 wins from 18 games - the only reason why we aren't pressing for the 8 is the games we...

Bendigo Bombers finals bound.
2 games and % clear in 8th position.
Will no doubt cop a hiding from Williamstown this week (away) but a pretty good year to get a final into our young developing team (which has been pretty unsettled too).
From being winless in 2009 i'd say this isn't too bad a result.

I always check there and they're slack updating their site.
It's printed in The Age but they don't seem to have the info on their website either.
