Great cup all round.

Re: World cup

Brazil v mexico good open game - end to end stuff with Brazil creating more genuine chances.

Second half Belgium v Japan is unbelievably good stuff. Very unlucky for Japan not to cause the upset.

Big Brazil v Belgium quarter final coming up.

Re: World cup

Great game France v arg last night.
Some super goals.

Thank F Portugal are out, they are just too dour defensively.

I’m still hoping for an underdog rather than a heavy weight to get up - Belgium? Croatia? Now that would be a story.

Re: World cup

And as for Bert van M - hard to be too critical given we’ve been more competitive than most expected, but....

Six substitutions over two games and no room for the only bloke really capable of putting the ball in the net in general play?

Really missed opportunity to take the three points v the Danes.

Re: World cup

I’m staggered Fozzie was arguing for Neymar to have the penalty. It was as soft a contact as you could imagine.

Re: Australia in England ODI's

481 !!!

I had to check - I thought you had made a typo!

What a joke. Was it played in a back yard? No - Trent Bridge! What are the dimensions?

But f*** me, that is horrendous.

Re: World cup

Tight cup so far.
Aussie’s very unlucky.
Portugal v Spain ripper.
Brazil held.
Germans lose.
Could be a first time winner - I’m hoping Belgium.

Re: Real Madrid v Liverpool Champions League Final

Karius howlers are ridiculous at that level.

Bale's first goal - ridiculous, but in a different sort of way. Unbelievable.

I believe the trafficking charges have now been dropped. Bomber has been more than compliant and the media of course played it up.

It is sad to see him as he is.
trafficking charges dropped? where did you get that from?
sorry, I haven't seen it reported.

I described the ball tampering as gut wrenching.

I was wrong.

Re: SACK SMITH

Well, you'd have to think it's the last you'll see of ball-tampering - at least from an Australian. Hopefully? Yeah? I have no problems with most of the punishment. I can understand some of the argument against the length of the bans, but really, it was the most hideous looking thing ever on a crick...

Re: SACK SMITH

Fines for duplessis. Not sure about Atherton.

That's what makes me think, is it really a big deal? (I mean in terms of influence on the game, at a moral level I find it reprehensible).

Re: SACK SMITH

Bancroft is a grown man, and has to take responsibility. But I think Smith and perhaps Warner are more culpable, given their positions, experience, and what sounds like the initial discussion to do this. Its hard to understand how such deliberate actions can only lead to one match ban (and /or fine...

Re: Australia v South Africa Cricket Tour 2018

Can't believe I thought test started today! #-o Just watched highlights, far out, the LBW against Smith is ridiculous. As plum as it gets. The real problem is the 2 reviews. If there was only one it'd only be used (hopefully) if the ump had made a shocker, rather than players just having a look for ...

Lyon and Starc clean up SA. Will be a big test to win first up in the series.

And Mitch Marsh...excellent innings. What a shame he didn't get the ton.
