I believe the trafficking charges have now been dropped. Bomber has been more than compliant and the media of course played it up.

It is sad to see him as he is.
trafficking charges dropped? where did you get that from?
sorry, I haven't seen it reported.

I described the ball tampering as gut wrenching.

I was wrong.

That, was gut wrenching.

Re: SACK SMITH

Well, you'd have to think it's the last you'll see of ball-tampering - at least from an Australian. Hopefully? Yeah? I have no problems with most of the punishment. I can understand some of the argument against the length of the bans, but really, it was the most hideous looking thing ever on a crick...

Re: SACK SMITH

Fines for duplessis. Not sure about Atherton.

That's what makes me think, is it really a big deal? (I mean in terms of influence on the game, at a moral level I find it reprehensible).

Re: SACK SMITH

Bancroft is a grown man, and has to take responsibility. But I think Smith and perhaps Warner are more culpable, given their positions, experience, and what sounds like the initial discussion to do this. Its hard to understand how such deliberate actions can only lead to one match ban (and /or fine...

I agree. Serve the ban. Never captain again. But earns place as batsman.

It's not just the cheating that has me f*****, it's the mind-blowing idiocy of cheating in the middle of a ground surrounded by cameras. How f****** dumb is this lot?

Re: Australia v South Africa Cricket Tour 2018

Can't believe I thought test started today! #-o Just watched highlights, far out, the LBW against Smith is ridiculous. As plum as it gets. The real problem is the 2 reviews. If there was only one it'd only be used (hopefully) if the ump had made a shocker, rather than players just having a look for ...

Lyon and Starc clean up SA. Will be a big test to win first up in the series.

And Mitch Marsh...excellent innings. What a shame he didn't get the ton.

I know t20 is all about runs. But seriously, Eden park is more junior cricket ground than international venue.

The Scorchers are gunna need to do very well to beat the Renegades tonight. CWhite caught on a NB last ball :) Yes, Hoggy played very well to get the Scorchers over the line  Haha! That last over of his deserves an investigation for possible match fixing. It was atrocious. (Tongue in cheek, h...

Re: A Quedtion of Law and Order

Anyone listening to Rohan Connolly on Twitter? He's going feral over the reporting of the issue. Unless he’s screaming for Magistrates to be castrated or stoned to death, I’m not interested in what he’s got to say. its amazing how the real issue gets lost. awful crimes are taking place, and some li...

Re: Ashes Cricket 2017/18

Any thoughts on this pitch so far?

From where I sit (lounge!) looks hard to score and hard to get people out. The very definition of a poor wicket. Perhaps not as bad as Melbourne - yet.

Edit: and Warner gets out!

Re: Ashes Cricket 2017/18

It may have been because it was v Zimbabwe, or perhaps because it was a day night test (or both factors) - but I believe there was an inaugural 4 day test match Saffers v Zimb? Sadly I think it finished well inside that time. But I'm with many of you, the pitch has to give bowlers a chance. Placid f...

Re: Sheffield Shield, ODD's + Big Bash 2017/18

I think the leggies benefit from batsman having to force the pace. In tests, the batsman can wait for the odd loose one to find the boundary, but also milk singles as necessary. No such luxury in T20 especially.
