Re: DYLAN SHIEL

His arms are very stiff and bent at the elbows when he is running with the ball...that translates to a dodgey ball drop when kicking. He needs to loosen his arms and and relax his kicking style....if he can manage that then he becomes an elite mid

Re: R7 Essendon v Geelong

VFL form should decide on who comes in along with team structure Can Francis, Ambrose, Hurley and Hooker all play together in the same backline? If Myers is omitted I will assume Worsfold has gotten back the blackmail photos...in other words, Myers will not be omitted. In this case you simply cannot...

Re: R6 Essendon v Collingwood (ANZAC Day)

An opportunity lost today but a lot of good signs nevertheless. I guess Premiership teams make their own luck and we still have to iron out silly mistakes at critical times. We are not far off but in a season as close as this one, can not afford to slip back on the win loss ratio. Must win next week.

Re: DYLAN SHIEL

58% disposal efficiency today and coughed up a couple of goals indirectly.

At 26, his disposal is unlikely to get better which makes him an above average player but not quite elite. Even so, a great asset.

Re: R6 Essendon v Collingwood (ANZAC Day)

Our 4 highest draft picks of the last 5 years (McGrath excluded) all on the sidelines Parish (5), Francis (6), Laverde (20) and Langford (17) Where are we going wrong in developing young talent or am I being unfair PS - On the flip side - our late draft and rookie selections have been in many cases ...

Re: DYLAN SHIEL

EARLY IMPRESSIONS OF DYLAN SHIEL I think it is fair to say that DS has not disappointed. He is currently averaging 29.4 disposals a game and I think in the last 3weeks we have started to see his impact from stoppages, especially at Centre Bounces. His pace and ability to burst from packs is somethin...

Re: predictions for today

What I think will happen and what will happen are likely to be two completely different things. What I don’t want to see is the Bombers bursting out of the blocks going out to a very hand but awkward 27 point half time lead only to be rolled in the second half and lose by 11points.

Re: R6 Essendon v Collingwood (ANZAC Day)

Definite changes In: Smith and Zaha Out: Ham and Ridley (not that they did anything wrong ... just someone must give way) Considering changes: Laverde for Baguley (though its hard not to kick 6 goals in a 100 point win and you hardly play in the midfield) Clarke if fit - Do we really want TBell to ...

Re: R5 Essendon v North Melbourne

I think Collingwood has won 5 of the last 6 ANZAC day outings. Not good enough Bombers. Let’s hope this group is as hungry as they are capable. The game on Thursday will be won by the team most determined to win. Based on their current form lines, I think these 2 teams are pretty closely matched Col...

Re: Clanger Hangar 2019

The majority on that list spend time in around clearances (Shaw the obvious exception). As such most of their clangers will be under pressure. What stands out with our clangers is how bad they are. Missing targets by hand and foot under no pressure. Missing shots on goal from inside 30 at no more t...

Re: Clanger Hangar 2019

Clangers in general have little bearing on results. They can have a lot of bearing on results. Clangers cause turnovers and a lot result in scores against. It just so happens that the opposition also produces clangers and the same applies to them. It comes down to how good you can capitalise on tho...

Re: R6 Essendon v Collingwood (ANZAC Day)

Huh....why all the love for Collingwood. I think we are every chance if keep to our recent form. They have a 2 man forward line and a non existent back line. Yeah good luck to them. Merrett, Shiel, Heppell, McGrath, Smith, Zaharakis, Parish, Myers can hold their own against the Pies mids......provi...

Re: Where to Now for Langford and Laverde??

Great comments s'dreams...not going to argue with them. I definitely agree that the ranking system is ridiculous but i only mentioned it to try and define what is in reality a fairly abstract concept. Of course the players ahead of Langford in the "pecking order" are going to fill different roles in...

Re: Where to Now for Langford and Laverde??

Plenty of time on their hands. Ffs, I can’t understand why people keep trying to write off 18-22 year olds. Grow a brain and look at how most players careers go for the first 80 games. Both players are 23 this year and have played only 29 (Jayden) and 37 (Kyle) games in their careers. That is aroun...

Re: R5 Votes v North Melbourne

5 Shiel 4 Merrett 3 Heppell 2 Brown 1 Fantasia A few bad turnovers, but overall a great team effort. Loved the run out of the back half, please don’t go back to the slow chipping back and forth shit from rounds 1 & 2... Also, Shiel’s disposals much improved... YES!! We are going to see great things...
