Re: Best 22 in 2020

I guess we can now rule a line through Irish. Add Ambrose to that list. So at this stage question marks on Hurley, Hooker, Heppell, Walla, Stewart, Daniher, Gown, Bellchambers, McKenna, Draper and Ambrose That’s four All Australians, our number 1 ruckman and his apprentice, our best small forward, ...

Re: Ambrose

PCL now confirmed. Awaiting further medical diagnosis. Likely to be up to 10 weeks if bad. Could be less if not so bad.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I am off to hang myself....

Re: Ambrose

For f***'s sake! And against Melbourne's VFL side, so what was the point of that? And our big recruits this year (Smith, Townsend and Phillips) didn't play. Brynn Teakle (must be related to Eddlestone's ex), is apparently trying out for out last spot and did the ruckwork for us. This may not bode w...

Re: ITS A PUPPY!!

Imagine if they put a football in there! Half the list would go... “WHAT THE f*** IS THIS???” Some funny reactions there though 8) I would imagine they wouldn’t be able to get a clean grip on it, let it slip out of their hands and hear it roll out of the box and tamely roll across the floor.

Re: 1981 The Awakening

We will need to inject 3 or 4 standout players to even get close to being on the same page as the 81 core squad. A squad that feature generational talents...Negale, Watson, Van Der Haar, Daniher T, Daniher N, Madden etc. That squad then was bolstered with the likes of Baker, Williams, Merrett, Hawke...

Re: Post 2019 and Pre 2020

Geez there are some ugly buggers in those squads. https://www.afl.com.au/news/374161/state-of-origin-squads-revealed-who-s-in-from-your-club- Is it just me, or do those new style "Big V" jumpers look, well, strange. The V is thinner and has moved down the jersey to make extra space for logos. Notic...

Re: Mongrel Punt Jumps On Essendon Bandwagon...sort of?

I think the pertinent point in this article is that none of our young players, other than Redman, have shown any real upward trending in their game performance over several years in the system. Langford, Laverde, Parish, McGrath, Francis are all Top 20 draft picks, three of them are Top 5. None have...

Only the one Essendon player selected amongst the two State of Origin squads. Happy with that but strangely dismayed at the same time.

Re: Post 2019 and Pre 2020

I am not a Worsfold fan...but credit where it’s due. His stabilizing influence at the club in its darkest hour was indeed commendable. But, we need to move on and Woosha, beyond baby sitting, was never the right man for the job ahead.

Re: Best 22 in 2020

Thought it time to revisit our starting 22 based on the current injury status and preseason training form. D50 Francis. Ambrose. Gleeson Redman. Hurley. Saad Midfield Phillips. Shiel. Merrett Heppell. Townsend. McGrath F50 Smith. Laverde. McKenna Walla. Stringer. Fantasia Interchange Langford, Ham,...

Re: Post 2019 and Pre 2020

In terms of the article, it’s a pretty damning indictment on Worsfold’s tenure as head coach. It’s been obvious to fans that the game plan has not worked when most needed. Opposition know exactly what to do when playing Essendon and our deploring lack of spine results in humiliation a la the 20 odd ...

Re: Best 22 in 2020

I am looking forward to us getting our second ever #1 pick. Does that mean our compensation pick for JD would be #2? Assuming the AFL takes into account Joe’s age and salary demand then yes, it would be a first round selection immediately following the pick received from final ladder position. And ...

Re: Cameron and Viney

You can add Zac Williams to the list. If we start now, GWS will struggle to keep both of them as we can force them to play their hand and push them into salary cap red zone. We must have money to spend if you consider Daniher leaving and Hooker and Hurley in their last and second last years respecti...

I guess we can now rule a line through Irish.

Some talk of him coming back but you’d think the club would have said so if it was definite.

Sounds like a family problem, maybe an illness, who knows. I do hope everything is ok for the lad. We will sure miss him.
