Re: Remember The Days When...

Laycock, Bradley, Myers, Gumbleton, Shane Harvey, and James Davies...those selections derailed our squad for 10 years. I know it’s a lottery but just think if we had been super smart with our picks. The list below shows players selected after our choice. And there were many other great players we co...

Re: Remember The Days When...

I realize this is not entirely conclusive as All Australian representation does not make a player Elite...it could be that the player had a one off great year in a successful team. It’s also very subjective in its nature. Also, the numbers below are not individual players but simply the number of ti...

Re: Remember The Days When...

Yeah but we started plaing those players at age 16 so they had 5 seasons under the belt by the time they were 21. kids today have never been better prepared for the rigours of AFL...at 16 they have been playing the game for years in elite level underage comps. I just read the James Hird Academy new...

Re: Irish Influx

At this rate, Ireland will, in the not too distant future, be able to field a fully fledged AFL team in the international series....forget the stupid combined rules. Yes they would get flogged, today. But in 10 years time who knows?

Re: The Baby Powder Twins

Of course Barnard was right up there. Even the silky Mercuri would never take a backwards step.

For the life of me I simply don’t get how a team coached by John Worsfold can be as terrifying as tissue paper.

I'm happy with it all. In fact, I hope we play all our games on a Thursday or a Friday. I hate it when my weekend is spoiled by our club.

Then Sunday twilights are for you

They were awesome players. We probably took them for granted. We have nothing like them on the list now!
Throw in Wallis, Hardwick, Longy, Hird, Lloyd, Moorcroft....that team was as tough as nails.

The Baby Powder Twins

Where do we find another pair like these two legends. Talented and tough, neither ever took a backwards step. A great video from BTV which aired last year but worth a watch https://www.essendonfc.com.au/video/2018-07-20/btv-bomber-legend-mark-jason-johnson How good would it be to have their toughnes...

Re: Those Shown the Door....

So help me here, as I am struggling to decipher the Rosetta Stone that is the AFL’s list management rules....

If we use three draft picks do we still have room to recruit one or two DFA’s....there is some talk we are looking at Walker and Bastinac from Brisbane?

Fantastic analysis of the whole list management issue s’dreams. That certainly clears up a whole lotta questions. I would assume that Draper will be elevated once back from injury....for some reason I thought he signed a new contract after the speculation that St Kilda were sniffing around? I would ...
