Re: Essendon Rumour Mill

I was going to say, if it was Langford having that coffee in a busy Puckle St cafe I would be very surprised. He would never have been able to make his way through heavy traffic.

Re: Begley

Tough audience...kid has just come off a knee reco and has barely played a dozen games. I get the feeling but let's at least give him a chance. Couldn't be worse than Langord and Laverde who have each been given 5 seasons to show something Hasn’t got it. Yeah but then if you compare his first 3 gam...

Re: Open Letter to John Worsfold

It's probably inevitable that if you stick around long enough as coach things will begin to click. The system, in theory at least, is designed to give all teams an equal chance at building success. Of course there are exceptions to this theory and you do occasionally see coaches have immediate succe...

Re: Hypothetically, would you be happy with...

There is risk whichever way we go but do remember, when Joe and Raz had their fantastic years in 2017, we finished 8th! Sure we have bolstered the mid field since with Shiel, Smith and up forward with Stringer so perhaps a full season with all of them playing fit may be the difference. But what if i...

Re: Hypothetically, would you be happy with...

Imagine if we had the following draft picks for this year's National Draft 4, 8, 9 and 11 We could potentially build a team with genuine long term talent. Let's be honest, we simply do not have the cattle to be a top 4 threat in the immediate short term. My point with this post is we need to be aggr...

Re: Hypothetically, would you be happy with...

I think we should be reluctant to trade Daniher because we've invested a lot in his development and have nought to show for it. Big forwards like him dont grow on trees. Nothing less that 2 first round picks and a ready to go player who is quality will suffice. Alternatively we should demand Papley...

Powell-Pepper on the radar
has exactly the mongrel our mids lack. But does he have the smarts to become a quality mid. Would toss Fantasia in for him and their second rounder

Re: Changes next year

To be fair, i dont think Heppell has been a bad captain at all. He has grown into the role. I cant see any changes there. I would rather they groom McGrath for the role in a couple of years. We are stuck with Woosha as well, but hopefully a fresh coaching panel with Cara along with an improved high ...

Fox Footy Commentary " Shiel spins out of a tackle handballs to Heppell on the overlap, fumbles, ball spills loose to Merrett, Merrett breaks free and looks upfield , Jeremy Cameron has acres on his own and is calling for the ball long. Merrett, ignores the lead and bombs one high into the forward p...

Re: Hypothetically, would you be happy with...

More Daniher speculation in the media today. Wonder why it wont go away As for him not being worth 2 draft picks...pffft. If Shiel can get 2 then Daniher is a shoe in for the same. A marquee kpp forward who is capable of kicking 60+ goals...they dont grow on trees. Ok , this assumes he is injury fre...

Re: Hypothetically, would you be happy with...

i guess the key issue with Fantasia is his desire to head home at some point. For us, it is when can we extract maximum leverage in a trade and that is not usually when the player is uncontracted.

Re: Danny Frawley

so sad for his family and friends.

A terrific guy, footy larrikin and true gentleman whom i had the great pleasure dealing with for a short time while he was at the Saints.

Most of all, a brilliant and courageous footballer.

The finals have a large shadow hanging over them.

Open Letter to John: We love you. Signed: Xavier Campbell :) Heard that. No surprise. What happened to that ‘rumour’ where there was something in his contract that he must get us to a preliminary final and win it by 37 points? i doubt the rumour had any substance and may have been, if anythi...

Re: Marching Orders

How will the Strength and Conditioning Team measure up in this Season’s Review? These guys have a lot at stake, with potentially Careers on the line. They’ll be putting their case,as to how they deal with the players, prepare them for matches and help in recovery. And quite frankly, unless The Club kno...
