Re: DYLAN SHIEL

I have no evidence to support these musings but I would imagine Dodoro already has the basic deal for Shiel locked in. But there may be further discussions on going regarding getting certain picks back from GWS in order to make a play for another trade prospect (Martin for example) I don’t know for ...

Re: Who do we want?

I will be very surprised if Shiel leaves GWS (as much as I would be happy to see him at Essendon) . I suspect the reason Carlton went hard at Setterfield was largely due to Shiel not being available. I think Martin remains our best chance but we will have to pay overs Still think we will take our dr...

Re: Who do we want?

Rumours have Shiel tossing up between us and the Scum Apparently, rumours only, Setterfield also being pursued by the Scum. Putting my bias to one side, why would anyone throw away their best years on a team that’s at least 5 years away from being a serious Top 8 threat. Mind you if Shiel gets the s...

Re: Who do we want?

Shiel and Gaff really ought to look at the experiences of Gary Ablett Jnr taking the cash to be at Gold Coast Ultimately, being a big fish in a little pond, depite the money, is never going to be as satisfying as playing in a successful club. Judd took the money too and played out his career at a de...

Re: Who do we want?

I would not be throwing better than 750K at Shiel - Max Anymore would be an insult to Heppell, Merrett etc who are as good if not better players on a lot less coin Lets go to the draft and get the best available player that falls our way. Our midfield is pretty close to being "good enough". It was c...

Re: Who do we want?

I would be pretty confident that the Club IS doing what it can to land a ready made, elite level midfielder. There are 2 in the “mix” this season. Gaff and Shiel. Gaff wants North for the biggest payday and Shiel wants Hawthorn for the enduring appeal they have as a destination club. We don’t have t...

Re: Who do we want?

From my limited knowledge of these things Gaff has not signed with the Eagles as he wants to return to Melbourne. Apparently his Dad has been unwell and he would also like to be closer to him. Gaff has the chance to earn $1 Million per annum with a North or St Kilda. He probably has 5 to 6 years lef...

Gf Loss no. 27

Gotta love those “wobbles”

Re: Who do we want?

I dont know much about Setterfield other than his high draft selection and was a possibility to be taken with our number 1 pick for a short while. Obviously the lad must have some talent to be picked so high in the draft but is he just another injury prone tease? Having said that, Francis can be the...

Re: Major League Baseball 2018

Don’t underestimate Oakland A’s Windy. They’ve put together a pretty darn good season, which usually may have Won a Division Pennant. They’ve had a sprinkling of Play - Off appearances over the years, most ending up in disappointment. They won’t be banking on a one off appearance this time around. True...

Re: Major League Baseball 2018

Sadly, I think the Red Sox are an almost certain WSC this year. As much as it galls me to say, they have the best all round roster. Yankees have the power, always good to have at Yankee Stadium, but our starting rotation is weak despite Severino having a great year and CC still managing to be effect...

Re: Major League Baseball 2018

I went to Fenway to see the Yankees take on the Sox - was so excited, and then, the rain came and the game was postponed. Still, had a look around the ball park - yeah, its got history, but other than that its a grimy mess.

Re: Major League Baseball 2018

Actually McCutcheon came from SF on a waiver as his salary was killing the Giants who are not in the running for the play offs. He didn’t even complete a full season after crossing over from the Pirates during the off season. He has been good with the Yanks going at a better than 300 obp

Re: Major League Baseball 2018

My beloved Bronx Bombers have secured an AL wildcard place....likely to go up against the A’s in the sudden death playoff. We should have done better and finished on top of the AL East if not for a once in a generation season from the Red Sox. Injuries cruelled the offense and an incomplete and ofte...

Re: Who do we want?

Given that Collingwood and the Eagles are in the great “no one gives a shit” grand final, can’t we just start the trade period now?

Re: Who do we want?

Any truth to the rumor that we’re talking to Martin from GC? Surely they wouldn’t let him go?? Rumour is that he’s seeking a trade to EFC That rumor is false. He's talking to a lot more then just us currently. If the lad’s Manager has contacted the club to feel out our interest...fair enough. If th...

Not sure why we would consider him....good player but does not fit the bill of what we need. Still, if you could land him and a top notch mid, why not

Re: Who do we want?

Maybe this should be headed, who do we NEED?. Our top priority this trade period should be to get Dylan Shiel to the club. He is exactly what we NEED and sadly lack. A good inside mid cum burst player who uses it pretty well. If we get him I don`t care what else happens this trade period. :) He is ...
