Re: Finals Not A Given

If we play like we played today, then we will lose all three for sure.

Re: Rnd 19..vs Gold Coast Suns

Considering every other team that has played them recently has had a percentage booster...

This is a disgrace.

Re: Rnd 19..vs Gold Coast Suns

Early signs definitely don't look good. Getting slaughtered in the ruck and very ineffective in attack.

Re: Skills???

I think it's part of the overall deterioration of our once great game. Today's players are arguably better at tackling and running than the 1980s, but hopeless at leading and kicking to position, which used to be a key part of Australian football. I remember the great full forwards Hudson McKenna et...

Re: R16. Essendon V Swans

We really need to lift. This is a season defining moment. If we lose today, we have absolutely no hope of making the finals. If we lose IN MELBOURNE to the Swans, we cannot be taken seriously as a team.

Hooker sensational in that last quarter. We stole it from them as they missed lots of easy shots.

Have some of our player bet against ourselves???

Some shocking skill errors!
e.g. Begley missing that last shot!!

Re: R15 Essendon v GWS

So far, a really strange mixture of brilliance and stupidity. One minute we look like killers and then next minute we make some basic mistake that even ten year olds should not make. Hard to say which way it will go in the second half.

Absolute embarrassment in the end. If they had kicked straight, it could have been 80 points or more.

The wheels absolutely fell off that quarter. Lucky not to be far further behind. Not even sure why exactly.

Reasonable start so far, but let them in for some easy ones. How did Hurley not touch that one on the line?!

Re: R13 Essendon v Hawthorn

Pretty ordinary last ten minutes... almost let them steal it from us.. but up to then a lot of good signs. McKenna and Saad both great off the backline. Parish really taking that next step.

Re: R11 Essendon v Carlton

We fell back into too much cutesy pie stuff that quarter, which often came unstuck. Just lucky Carlton are even worse than us and can't kick straight.

Re: R11 Essendon v Carlton

We played a bit better that quarter, going a bit more direct and not trying to do as many cute little roundabout things. A terrible game overall with terrible skills on both sides and nothing even vaguely resembling a decent game plan.

Even when we made a belated better effort, we still tended to just kick and hope. There just doesn't seem to be any system at all.

Re: R10 Essendon v Richmond (DREAM TIME)

Hard to judge anything much as it is so wet. Parish and Heppell handling the conditions okay. Hard to see where the goals are going to come from.

Can't argue with any of that, Windy.

An embarrassing loss against the bottom team.

Another season down the gurgler.
