Re: 3rd team in WA?

The comparison using Port was directed at your comment regarding bringing a WAFL team in as a 3rd WA based team. Port hasn't worked because most people in Adelaide hate(d) Port Adelaide Magpies and see the Power as an extension of them (and therefore won't support them) So I am saying that to bring ...

Re: Trade / Free Agency Period Outcome

looks to be Prismall and 4th rounder for Gysberts... also direct swap of Pears for Broughton is on the cards also , Broughton has a meeting with Ross Lyon today or tomorrow to discuss his place in the team Where did you hear that one....the talk in Perth is either he goes to Port or he stays at Fre...

Re: Naughty Adelaide?

Nice rant LR

But I must say I agree with Bonce on this one.

The AFL have stated that Tippett's contract would not have passed (their contracts man Ken Wood) if it had made mention of the so called gentleman's agreement so they're not changing any rules in this instance.

Re: 3rd team in WA?

Sorry but I just can't see it happening anytime in the forseeable future. They currently have 18 teams and if they introduce new teams or relocate existing ones, then Tasmania would be first cab off the rank. Personally, I cannot see any reason at this point to expand the competition further (which ...

Re: 3rd team in WA?

There's been absolutely no talk in Perth of a third WA team. I doubt the AFL would be even considering such an option as there does not appear to be any need/demand for such a team. I've never heard anyone talk about wanting to support a Perth based team other than the two current ones. People who d...

Re: Davey

Not sure why Davey gets a year, or why he accepted the offer? Either he is part of the future or he is not. I am sure he would have attracted some Trade interest so it is strange why we have gone down this path. It is different to Gumbleton who clearly has to dwemonstrate he is up to the rigours of...

Re: Essendon Expectations 2013?

I don't buy into this "hope we play hard teams" bullshit. Play who we get dealt, and when you make the finals, that's where you need to stand up. Adelaide had the easiest draw going round, and everyone wrote them off because of it - they made the finals, took their chances, and were a bees dick off...

Re: Whatever It Takes

"Whatever It Takes" What does that even mean? In terms of membership, does it mean that the club will listen to it members/former members/supporters and offer membership packages of interest rather than the shit they put out last year? (trying to force people to pay for a seat that they didn't want)...

Completed 210km Around the Bay ride yesterday - 8 hours and 23 mins riding time at 25.35km/h avg. Melbourne weather turned out in full tradition - warm, freezing, sunburn, a burst of pouring rain, headwinds, crosswinds, tailwinds....all good. :D Thank god for a 1pm start at work today otherwise I'd...

Re: Trade / Free Agency Period Outcome

We can "want" all you like but we still have to deal with reality. We got Goodard...that effectively killed our chance/desire/need for Moloney as we could not compete with Brisbane's offer of four years (and nor would we have wanted to) Caddy...we didn't have the goods to trade for him. Geelong gave...

I don't really give a rats arse about who would win a debate...neither Beazley or Costello were good enough to run the country whatever their debating skills. I'll take Gillard over Beazley every day as (imo) she's made of much sterner stuff than Beazley ever was...and as for the other two...what an...

I am an original Bombertalker. I was Bombertalking when this site was a page on the EFC web site way back in the old days. So I aint going anywhere.
