Re: Pears is a Superstar

Pears was my BOG (some beg to question my sight and/or sanity). Fev started well ... and looked dangerous. Pears stopped him and make him get sooky (about 15 minutes into the first Qr.) Amost single-handedly broke Carl's attack and the Blue's heart (well they do only have one avenue). The runs were ...

Re: McVeigh Cops a Week

Both decisions (1. the act itself as clumbsy and unnecessary as it was and 2. the apology and his unawareness of its wider implications) wil be the making of him for the rest of his career. I have previously commented on McVeigh's passion for the club, his talent and his give all attitude... but as ...

Re: BT POLL: Who Will Be the Next Captain

McVeigh - with the Captaincy comes responsibility ... so pressure on him for no more brain fades. Also - the Cap needs to be someone who can inspire (especially the kids) ... McVeigh clearly does this, and his mea culpa seems as much for the younger players as much as his own regret. Jobe is well on...

Re: What are the boys up to?

I want to start a lobby group to have Boris elevated to Champion of Essendon status. I reckon he has to be the most underated player in the AFL over the last 25 years. Check out his record if you dont believe me f***'n sensational player. Loved him. Dead eye dick. Beautiful kick, especially on the ...

Blush ... Willy is affiliated with Collingwood (derr fred)

Brain fade - Port was the team I was referring to rather than Willy (but I was working the free willy pun). Frankston ... ptth moccy wearing bogans.

Re: Bendigo vs Box Hill

Still disgraceful. This has got to end. What gives me the irrits about the VFL is that since the Melbourne AFL clubs were forced to give up their seconds and restrict their senior list (42??), there has been a maximum number of AFL listed players allowed to be playing in a VFL team (from memory - a...

Lucas played really well - and if he had not had to cover for ruck and backline shortages - would have kicked a big bag! Great to see he has his confidence back.

Re: Scott Lucas

Suprised that EFC went for a three tall forward setup - and had Lloyd on half-forward. Lloyd had no influence - and Bock kept running off him to set up most of the crows first half goals. Get him back to the goal square. Neagle was a butterfingers today (unlike Tippett - though Tippet had a much be...

Wallace to Bendigo - last chance cafe

Thoughts of putting Wallace as an assistant into our struggling associate? He has said that he wants to coach but doesn't want to use his RCF knowledge against other AFL teams. Lifeline for both Wallace and Bendigo?

Re: Can we move back to the MCG?

Seem to recall that. given the EFC was the frst to sign, the docklands deal also gave us priority for friday night games (and so big TV audiences and better crowds) ... what happened?

Review on this basis

Re: Bellchambers Knee Injury

Time to promote a rookie - Hille is out for the season - and the next few games (as other posters have stated) do not have a ruck domination. At the moment we don't have options. Yes Bock is underweight and underdone, but lets face it, he will develop quicker in the seniors than in Bendigo. And at 2...

Back to the well eh Kev??? And still carrying the grudges from the last two years of your tenure... sigh!!!! I remember that Jobe was in the twos for unkown reasons (nothing to do with the rumours that Tim was allegedly destabalising Kev to the board) and Hille was somehow forgotten on the bench. It...

Re: Early All Australian Predictions

Consensus of media pundits (ie the real selectors) is that Paddy is 3 - 5 year away from being a star (ie read AA)! Pity thay dont use the same criteria on midfielders (Rich and Ottens possible this year!). Think that Watson iis our closest for AA at the moment - very few in and under middis are bet...

Hmm ... Beware Hubris!!!

Done OK so far - but IMO some of the kids were flagging last night and we wil replace them with expreienced players coming off limited pre-seasons and/or long term injuries.

Chance to make the 8 .. but don't antipate top 4.
