Hate the new uniforms...all gold or all green was much better.

Really have no feeling as to how Australia is going to play. It feels like a long time since the best squad played a match together. Are there any warmup games scheduled in the next 40 days?

Edit: To answer my own question:

24/5 v New Zealand @ MCG
1/6 v Denmark
5/6 v USA

The all gold strip looked much better.

It's going to be tough for the Aussies to get through their group.

Lose to Germany
Beat Ghana
Draw with Serbia

Into the round of 16 where we will get bent over by England.

Very worried about this team. Apart from Kewell we don't have a game breaker unless Vidosic or Ruyka have a break out moment. I expect that Cahill will do something special but without a Viduka we will get pushed around by the good teams.

Also worried about our defence. Moore and Beachamp are both pretty slow Kisnorbo would have been good even if he wasn't fast. I would play Williams in defence. We are really going to rely on Schwarzer.

Dukes was rubbish for Australia, so no need to worry there. However, how the f*** does Holman get a game?

Rosso .. what the dickens are you talking about. Dukes was our best player ever ...didn't score a lot of goals but would always draw a couple of defenders and actually had a bit of class about him.

We don't have a player who can hold up the ball now ... it's rebound city ...especially when these big Germans and Serbs defenders start pushing Kennedy around like a rag doll.

But you are right about Holman ..if he scores .. or even hits a target with his passing.. I'll go hopping to China.

McDonald would be a star if they played him in tandem with someone. Instead they persist with this lone man crap.

Kewell's groin is still stuffed. Is this bloke ever fit?

I think Hillchaser was talking about a meaningful game, not some rubbish against a rubbish team. He will get found out this WC and hopefully the new coach wont be as generous as Pim.

I can only assume that Holman is given a game based on playing in the Dutch league. His main talent is to run in a straight line and lose the ball.

Feel for Williams missing the cut but would have liked to keep Tommy Oar instead of Garcia.

Hope that we play Valeri in preference to Grella and would like to see Jedinak and Vidosic get some time. we look heaps better when all these young guys are in the midfield. Start Grella, KEwell and Bresc on the bench.

Bring it On !!

Agree on Jedinak - thought he was nothing better than average when playing at Central Coast but I have been impressed every time I've seen him in the last year or so. Not convinced on Vidosic.
