The other selection was to dump Geraint Jones and they didn't. Dumb arse selctors!
Rest assured, Giles has played his last Test. Monty was great and i loved it! Even though he got a few wickets from wide balls outside off stump, his deliveries to get the LBW's and to bowl Langer were good, genuine wicket-taking deliveries.

Hooray for a competitive Test match!

He's a great bowler, I really rate him. 5 wickets is fantastic, well done Monty!

Langer played a crap shot.
Symonds fell to his own head of steam, and Warne chose a shite shot too close to his body.
Th lbw looked good on the flasho replay but he was WAY down the wicket.
Gilchrists was a good wicket.

Still 5 wickets is 5 wickets. Good on him.

I expect he deserves more respect, and may get it in the second innings.

Clark was very unlucky at the end, Warne dropped one out of both hands. He was bowling superbly.

Steve Harmison - He's Back!

He was bowling extremely well today, it was quite a fierce, scary spell of bowling.

it's great to see a match not dominated by the batsmen.

Indeed it is.

Don't write the Aussies off yet. What if Warne does a Monty?

This should be an awesome game.

Boxing Day will be a dead rubber. The Australians came out and over-attacked early on and paid the price, far too many loose strokes. We will end up making around 350-400 in the second dig.

I think Martyn leaving has given Hayden another chance. He is on his last legs and struggles against quality bowling.

Clark just got Strauss in a fairly dodgey decision. Out for 42, caught behind.

4 down now..

Great to see that Clark opened the bowling this morning in tandem with McGrath. He definitely earned his shot by bowling beaufifully last night and it would've been a travesty to give Lee first go again this morning.

6/122 at lunch.

Glad symonds got a couple of wickets, hopefully that will be enough to keep Watson out of the team.

Considering Bell was given out on a no-ball & Strauss didn't nick the ball, the Poms would be feeling well pissed off. They have a long tail & will be lucky to make 200.

I wanted to see them make 400 in the 1st innings to see how good we are with our backs to the wall - looks like I won't find out this series & will have to wait till the 2009 Ashes series to see another real contest between these 2 teams.

Awesome match, Poms hopefully get enough to make it a dead even first innings. Second innings, varying bounce spinning wicket will make for an awesome finish. Definately be a result here.

He would need to get a few more wickets and a big score to keep Watson out of the Boxing day test

He's toast. He once again demonstrated the reason he was dropped. lack of concentration.
