Can somebody tell me why this thread needs to be sticky'd? If enough people care about soccer it will stay at or near the top anyway.

Just wondering..........

Sunderland have just shelled out 9m for Craig Gordon from Hearts. Most expensive British keeper ever.

Just hope he doesn't have a blinder against us on Saturday night. :)

Why would you spend that much on an English Goalkeeper?
Man U to get off to a good start and open up a 3-4 game gap.
Chelsea to attempt to reel it in, but just fall short, similar to last season.

probably not far off the mark.... Chelsea have a few injuries to key players ATM. Terry and Drogba 2 big losses

$2.40 ManU
$2.60 Chelsea
$6.50 Liverpool

Thats why I thnk that will happen. Make no mistake, for all of Chelsea's Russian millions, their hopes fall on Terry's shoulders. We were able to break away from them when Terry missed matches last year.

In Aussie terms, Terry is to Chelsea what J. Brown is to Brisbane.
Its in the early part when it is often won and lost. In the latter half of the season, there are more matches due to FA Cup, champions league. As Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool feature prominently in the CL, the early part of the season is a big factor. Get the runs on the board before the congested fixture in New Year gets you.
