Man U to get off to a good start and open up a 3-4 game gap.
Chelsea to attempt to reel it in, but just fall short, similar to last season.

probably not far off the mark.... Chelsea have a few injuries to key players ATM. Terry and Drogba 2 big losses

$2.40 ManU
$2.60 Chelsea
$6.50 Liverpool
Thats why I thnk that will happen. Make no mistake, for all of Chelsea's Russian millions, their hopes fall on Terry's shoulders. We were able to break away from them when Terry missed matches last year.

In Aussie terms, Terry is to Chelsea what J. Brown is to Brisbane.
Its in the early part when it is often won and lost. In the latter half of the season, there are more matches due to FA Cup, champions league. As Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool feature prominently in the CL, the early part of the season is a big factor. Get the runs on the board before the congested fixture in New Year gets you.
THey are more f*cked without Drogba. He kept them in it last season.

I watched the tail end of Man U Reading game and saw a replay of the send off. I dont think it was a red card. How typical that extra time goes way overtime and surprise surprise surprise they get a close in free kick just at the death knell. Fortunately diver incarnate skies the ball way over the cross bar and justice is done.

Then Robby Slater complains that Reading were playing non football because they were completely defensive. I think given the complete imbalance in the resources and abilities of the two teams involved that this was a totally legitimate tactic.

What is your problem with Man U MH? It is fine not to like a team, but to let it cloud your judgement and make ridiculous statements that only serve to make you out a fool is childish. If you can state here that the challenge on Evra wasn't a send off, well I can come to the conclusion that you obviously have never seen a game of Football before!!!!!!!!!! Five seconds late, no contact with ball, studs showing, full brunt follow through on the man, then clean him up with the trailing leg.......not worthy of a red you reckon, GET REAL !!!!

As for extra time fool, you state you only saw the tail end of the game, so this would qualify you to determine the extra time with better judgement than the ref who was actually there for the entire match!!! Puzzling stuff indeed! Reading took an extra 20 seconds on each and every stoppage from the outset, that's where the time came from. By memory, you are a Chelsea supporter, am I right? Anybody with Drogba in the team they support, really has no grounds to call ANY other player a diver!!!!

You then go on to say, justice was done. Would you care to explain how you came to this verdict, putting your anti Man U bias aside please! People pay money to watch sides attempt to play football, one side did this the other just came to negate. Surely the side who had a go deserved the slice of justice, would you agree?

All this being said, well done Reading, you defended manfully and achieved what you aimed for, stop us playing. I have no qualms about that at all. It is our job to come up with ways to counter this and create chances, of which a couple need to be taken. We should be used to this after all, teams have been doing it to us at Old Trafford for 15 years. What shits me to tears is fools like the one above this post, who rant and rave with their immature anti Manchester United bias, which essentially stem from jealousy. Let us remember, Chelsea's recent successful record, has been BOUGHT, not EARNED. Chelsea were and STILL are broke, the money it has nows is Abramobvich's, not yours. Man U has earned its riches derived from its popularity and success. Popularity which has been gained by its ability to play attractive FOOTBALL for over 50 years. The very FOOTBALL you seem to condemn in your rubbish post above!!!

Gunners flying under the radar and starting nicely. Only thing is I'm not sure where the goals will come from all season without Henry and Reyes there.

Keep your shirt on Ace, I think I was most annoyed by the commentary after the game that begrudged Reading's negatives tactics. What more can a less talented team do when playing a nearly unstoppable opponent at home ? I'd expect the same from them against Chelsea.

Yes I am an anti Man U person. I guess its got a lot to do with being a Chelsea supporter and all the criticism levelled at Chelsea about the money spent on the current team whereas the other of the big 4 teams are assumed to be paragons of virtue in this respect. I just find this hypocritical.

I do think the big leagues in Europe have to start thinking about the lack of equalisation between teams. Unlike the "socialism" of the AFL via the draft and salary cap, huge clubs are just continuously stripping good players from lower clubs. Chelski may well be one of the major culprits in this but others are also to blame. I mean Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich all spend an absolute fortune on players. I just wonder where the rich clubs getting richer and poor clubs get poorer will end.

I hear what you are saying in regards to the big clubs. In truth, I hate when teams like ours steal a player from a small club in the January transfer window. However, I am of the view, if we don't buy them, another team will unfortunately.

not the "good" start you were Looking for.

Already 4 points behind Chelsea after only 2 games and with Rooney out for 2-3 months and ronaldo to miss the next 3 matches, things aren't quite so rosy in Stretford.

Nice lay-down by Tevez and a great strike by Scholes but you can't rely on him for your goals...saha and ole need to step up...and quickly
