1-0 Australia. Great start. Bit lucky in the first half in defense but rock solid in the second.
Could easily have been 2-0 with Bresciano missing a chance well in the clear one-on-one with the keeper right before half time.
That said, we did play well, and f*ck off Harry Kewell, Tim Cahill is the best footballer this nation has ever produced. He might play like a dirty little b*stard at Everton but he is fantastic for Australia.

Just Thought that i would revive this thread in preparation for Wednesday. Every one has been worried about the left side but with Kewell in good form and Carney backing him up we are going to be fine ... but with Emerton out .. it will be interesting to see who takes up the right side.
I think we'll probably play Wilkshire up there. Also I hope Pim doen't play Holman.... he's a junkyard dog.

Agreed on Holman. Terrible, terrible footballer. I hope Kennedy gets a game again - he's a seriously good player on top of being conveniently tall.

Do any of you football aficionados know if and hopefully when we get through the current Asian group, how many countries go through in all from Asia ? I mean I hope its more than 2 because we will be competing with the likes of Japan, South Korea and China.
The two group winners and the two group runners-up will qualify for the South Africa. The third-placed teams from each group will play a home-and-away play-off, with the winner advancing to the inter-confederation play-off with New Zealand.
