Well at least Qld managed to salvage something positive from a disasterous Milkshake Cup season. Our batting has been atrocious this year but the bowling has been solid. Not surprisingly it was the seamers who helped us salvage a consolation victory at the end of the season.

Look on the bright side Vics... At least you didn't concede 900 again ;-)

Lets hope for a repeat performance from this game except I seriously hope we do not enforce any type of follow on in the final!!!
So which highway will be dug up and used as the pitch?

I didn't think they had Highways in Tassie? ;)

Supporting Victorian cricket must be like supporting Geelong in the AFL.

No idea but it had better be a lovely flat road...

I saw George Bailey on inside cricket saying that they will be going for the outright win. This had better have been a calculated response cos if there is even a sign of declerations coming from us I could get arrested for disturbing the peace at Bellerive!!!

So much for preparing a "road".....looks like they've dug themselves a crator with a score of 5 for 94 at lunch....

They're slowly dragging themselves out of the massive hole they'd found themselves in.

Good fightback by Taswegia in making 340. Good on Damien Wright for making 67 and Luke Butterworth 66. Damien Wright has been an excellent performing in the domestic scene for several seasons now.

It is a road people just cant bat... If Tasmanias numbers 6-9 can score over 215 it means that the pitch is fairly timid.

We have won two sessions in this match both the last ones of each days and we look to have the upper hand.

You are right about Wright BD he is a very under rated cricketer and has been a fine 1st class cricketer for many years. He is also a champion of a bloke!!

If Tassie can take the two wickets early and manage to not lose more than 2 or 3 wickets by tea tomorrow I feel that the Shield could be where it has been yearned for many many years!!!

Come On Tassie!!!

Well at Tea...

TAS 4 down with a lead of 241.

You'd think at this point it's still anyone's game. If NSW take a few quick wickets after the Tea break and bat well tomorrow they're a good chance.

On the other hand, if TAS can occupy the crease til Lunch time tomorrow then NSW will have a chase on their hands in a short period. Gives TAS 2 chances of winning (Draw and outright win).

Great cricket today by Tassie

6/338 have not lost a wicket which is an amazing effort by Luke Butterworth and Sean Clingleffer.

What a great time to make your debut first class hundred in a shield final.... Well Done Luke!!

Surely we have this thing in the bag now surely!!!

Hasnt Butterworth had a final that he will never forget. Probably the best all-round performance of the last 20 years (possibly?)

66 in the first innings (came in at 6/150 odd, stayed til 9/335)
4 fa in the first innings
century in the second innings, batting at #8.

MOTM quite easily I would say.

Already done more than Watson.

If its the guy im thinking of, tall skinny lanky lad, then he has a fair way to go still. But I reckon he would only be 21 or so.

Lets up he can be a good all-rounder because he is a bowling all-rounder and he is quite tall.

Butterworth is 23 guys and looks very likely already in just his 5th first class game. He has been about the Tassie team for a while but has really come along lately. Up until now he has really been looked at as a one day specialist type player

Is a very handy bowler much better that Watson... (lol) and looks good with the bat too.

PS I would have to say that Clingleffer has just scored the ugliest century in a final for a long long time!!!

Who cares it was Magic Come on Tassie!!!!!!!!!!!

Wright immediately effective in his first over... and Butterworth just had a catch put down off his bowling at 2nd slip.

Lunch Final Day Pura Cup Final

NSW 7/109 (28 ov)
Rohrer 30*
Nicholson 2*

Hilfenhaus 4/22 (11ov)
Wright 2/1 (3ov)

NSW are completely gone. Hilfenhaus has completely shut the door on NSW and Wright has nailed it closed just to make sure. Great bowling performance in the first session. Butterworth unlucky not to have a scalp with a catch going down at 2nd slip.
