Melbourne Victory Fans Stage Mass Walkout Protest

Post by grassy1 »

They did this in the 2nd Half of their game against Adelaide, apparently in support of their fans who had been named and shamed by Rebecca Wilson in The Daily Telegrapgh, for bringing the game into disrepute.

So,anyone who's a Victory supporter want to give us their opinion on this? The protests also took place with Sydney FC Fans,in the form of Banner protests,as well at Melbourne Heart(City).

Agree with it. That c*** Wilson shouldn't have done what she did, and should never had access to the names of the people in question.

She probably shouldn't have named them(180 or so).But did she have a point about what to do with this group, who are supposed troublemakers at A League Games.

What are they are accused of precisely?

Probably having fun in a public space, not being a rabid AFL supporter...
Seriously though, I think it is more a lame version of the pommie soccer hooliganism and Cunterbury Thugdogs supporter like behaviour...

How can you say she has a point if you don't even know what they did?

My favourite moment was her declaring people chanting she drinks and drive is vile and toxic.

So she slanders and attacks 198 people coz they did the wrong thing but attack her over doing the wrong thing is vile and toxic. I think she's been on the wine again.
Essendon Football Club- We arent arrogant, just deluded.

It's got a bit to do with that there is no appeal process if you are banned.

There has been reports of people being banned that were not at the game. They had been identified incorrectly but they can't appeal. One got banned for throwing a beer in the air. The amount of police in the "active areas" at Victory games and at hotels that they dirnk at before the game is excessive.

There is no doubt there are people that have caused trouble and they should be banned.

Losing count of the number of Supporter groups up in arms and railing at Gallop and the FFA about their handling of the Banned, named and shamed supporters.

They're threatening to boycott much of this weekend's A League Round and possibly beyond that.Don't know if the Majority of those Named, shamed and banned deserve it,but can the supporter groups honestly say, some of the Shitstirrers don't deserve to be banned at least?

Grassy, it is not about the bans per say.
It is all about the ability to appeal and due process...
One guy was banned because someone threw something that hit him ffs

Crazy,I don't agree with all the 198 being named and shamed. But surely there's a few that stepped way over the mark?

That doesn't necessarily mean I'm in Gallop and FFA's corner on this, but as I said, not all of those 198 unfortunately named, are all so sweet and innocent.
