As if the incident wasn`t bad enough for the family and friends of Phil Hughes, and the cricketing world in general.
Can I ask why we need an inquest, are they looking for some-one to blame?.
Wasn`t it just an awful, tragic and 'freakish' accident?.
I thought an inquest would be held if they/we were n`t sure what happened that day.
I believe it would only be the (money-grabbing) legal fraternity that would want this dragged out, and bugger the feelings of his family, friends and ALL involved.
Phil Hughes Inquest
Re: Phil Hughes Inquest
I agree. This is dragging absolutely meaningless crap into the tragic events. WTF does what Bollinger said / didn't say got to do with a freakish events that culminated in Hughes' death?
And so what if they pitched short to him? They bowled within the allowable limits of the day, otherwise, umpires would have called no-ball. He wore a helmet. He was 63 not out. He can bat. Unfortunately, he misjudged his shot...played it to early, and the ball unbelievably struck him in an unprotected area of his neck which happened to rupture a main artery. How f****** unlucky and sad.
Focussing on tactics and sledging is dumb. Focus on improving the safety equipment.

Re: Phil Hughes Inquest
I feel for the Hughes family, but have to agree that this is completely a waste of time...
I played a game where we were getting belted...my mate put in an effort ball to a young lad - he missed because a) the bat was too heavy and b) didn't get the bat high enough...
Fractured eye-socket, concussion, time in hospital...it was ugly, but it was cricket...

To the HUGHES Family,we are Sorry for Philip's Tragic Passing!
What happened though,was a Freakish,tragic accident.
Phil Hughes was 63 not out,in smashing form and in a "Bring it On" Mood anyway! That fatefulll delivery was looking for a place over the fence for 6 Runs!Sadly,it didn't work out that way!
Whether or not Bollinger said,he was going to Kill him,is Absolutely Irrelevant!
Did they seriously believe Bollinger was serious?Maybe if he did what Thommo did with the Poms, they could possibly take issue with such words, but at the end of the day,Thommo would have shoved a beer in his victim's hand.
What possible good can come out of the HUGHES' Family Persual of Australian Cricket?Christ,I'm no fan of Sutherland and Co.Far from it!
But what on earth the Hughes Family hopes to achieve,is beyond me.Be too easy to say more compensation on top of the already paid out Super and other monies,so what ails them?Really!
