Perfect if our mate Watson was still around.
Haha, and Binga

Isn't great how he's not in the commentary box this summer 8)

Yes, I hadn't even thought of that. You've got a thing for him don't you.

Sorry Davey Warner being runout in a Test match is inexcusable, particularly when you don't even fully extend your freaking bat when trying to make your ground.

Difference between Lyon and their spinner this match is incredible as well, you would think Lyon was on debut, and their bloke had 200+ Test wickets.

That was one extraordinary bit of fielding though.

1st Test;

SAf 242 (Q. de Kock 84, T. Buvama 51, M. Starc 4-71, J. Hazlewood 3-72, N. Lyon 2-38) & 8/540 dec (J. Duminy 141, D. Elgar 127, V. Philander 73, Q. de Kock 64, K. Maharaj 41*, P. Siddle 2-62, M. Marsh 2-77, J. Hazlewood 2-107) v AUS 244 (D. Warner 97, S. Marsh 63, V. Philander 4-56, K. Maharaj 3-56, K. Rabada 2-78) & 4/169 (U. Khawaja 58*, K. Rabada 3-49)

No change for the 2nd Test? Evidence that we're not interested in winning this series...

That was one extraordinary bit of fielding though.

It was, but if Warner dove, or at least fully extended his bat when sliding it in, he would've made it home safe.

Yep, absolutely. He obviously had no idea the guy is a freak. I reckon the point he looked at Bavuma, he assessed that he had no time to gather and throw the ball before he would get home. That would have been correct in 99.99% of the time.

Particularly given how long we needed to stay in for. Amazing fielding, but shouldn't have happened.

I've always been pretty harsh on Lyon. I don't think he's much good.

That's changed, just read an article about how Australia's humiliating loss has been further compounded by the loss of Shan Marsh for the rest of the season with a broken finger.

f*** me, I would call that the f****** silver lining of the cloud. Pity someone didn't break his, equally unworthy of being an Australian Test player, brother's finger as well.

Question marks over Voges as well who appeared to twinge a hamstring in the field as well.

Burns, who is coming off a double failure in Queensland's Shield game and Callum Ferguson have been added to the squad.

Hasn't Cameron white scored ridiculous amounts of runs this year already?

What a surprise...Shaun Marsh injured

Ferguson is probably deserving of selection. But he's just as injury prone as Marsh. Maddinson and Handscomb stiff.

He's been pumping runs for a while. Last summer he got the Vics into the final with 97*, and then scored 78 in the final. Started the season this year with a 60 odd and 104*. Not to mention the tons he's scored the last two years in ODD. I thought he must be in his late 30's (seems like he's been around for 20 years), but he's only 33. I say "only" because Voges is 37...

Yes, which automatically rules him out of consideration.

In an interesting side note, Jackson Bird who was told he missed out on selection in the squad because he had to work on his batting scored 39 batting 11 for Tasmania, which is more than all of the Australian bowlers, Mitch Marsh, Adam Voges and Steve Smith made in both innings at the WACA.

Of course, we all know that none of the players can be considered for test duty...they are not current NSW players after all...

Ferguson did just score a ton for South Australia, but did he have a good summer last year thought he only averaged 30 odd in First Class Cricket.

Personally, instead of going a 30+ player with an average first class record, I would go a younger player with plenty of natural talent and potential, a Maddison, Handscomb, Dean or Lehmann, even if their FC record does not necessarily warrant it yet. I mean it worked with Clarke and Smith.

Yeah, I'm with you. Time to inject a young punk into the team. Dunno how it would look if Jake Lehmann got selected while Boof is team coach. Might be awkward for both of them.
