Vale Les Murray

Post by grassy1 » Sun Aug 06, 2017 2:11 pm

Saddened to hear of the passing of Les Murray last week.Australia's Mr Foorball of The World Game did so much to put The World Game at the forefront of our minds,Time and Again!

Be it through the NSL,European Football,Latin American Football, the World Cup,or of course, the Socceroos,Les was there.

Even during the Aussie Rules Season,if there was a TV nearby,it was almost Essential viewing to watch World Football and watch Les's call of Real Madrid v Barcelona or Napoli v Juventus.Or Sao Paolo v Barcelona, which Les didn't call, but hosted a good panel discussion with Tony Palumbo and Rale Rasich.

Les' Friendship with Johnny Warren was much Celebratec and both Shared a Passion for the Socceroos and Qualifying for The World Cup,eventually through ASIA,after a long time overdue 2nd Qualification for Germany,2006.

It is somewhat fitting now, that Les' final World Cup was in the Mecca Country of World Football,BRASIL!

It wouldn't have been Les's style to live it up,but he most certainly deserved to have a Right Carnivale in Rio,Salvador,Sao Paolo,Porto Alegre and everywhere else in BRASIL!

Rest in Peace Les.Kindest Sympathy to Family,Friends,Colleagues and Socceroos!
