Australia Vs Sri Laka

Post by s'dreams » Thu Jan 24, 2019 11:54 am

WTF is going on with the selectors? There is more change in the team than there was at EFC under Matty Knights.

OK Byrne and Richardson are understandable, but Patterson?

Surely Head is also on his last chance - ditto for Starc.

Maybe time for Langer to hit the road.

1st Test

SL 144 (N. Dickwella 64, P. Cummins 4-39, J. Richardson 3-26, M. Starc 2-41) v AUS 2/72 (M. Harris 40*)

Great bowling from Jhye Richardson on debut!

1st Test update;

SL 144 (N. Dickwella 64, P. Cummins 4-39, J. Richardson 3-26, M. Starc 2-41) & 139 (P. Cummins 6-23, J. Richardson 2-19) defeated by AUS 323 (T. Head 84, M. Labuschagne 81, M. Harris 44, S. Lakmal 5-72, D. Perera 2-84)

With what Pat Cummins has been through following his test debut some years ago, I am absolutely rapt for the success he’s having now. Gun bowler. Gun cricketer. Full stop.

So all is right now with the Australian cricket side because they had a win. Langer was effusive on 774.

I'm glad.

It's like beating Gold Coast at the MCG.

Certainly not World Beaters,but the team got the job done at least,so you gotta give ‘em some credit.

Good bowling by Pat Cummins and Jye Richardson was pleasing to the eye,especially some pearlers by Richardson to rattle the furniture.

Starc?Hmmm,.... #-o

Good innings by Labuschagne and Head,But no Centuries.Apalling shot and timing by Khawaja needed a kick up the arse!

Fielding?Ok,from what I saw and heard.Can’t say there were any dropped catches,which plagued us against India.Did anyone notice different in that department?

I will give credit when it’s due.

Sri Lanka are like Windies for quality ATM with both bat and ball because of the recent retirements.

Also match was on a bouncy fast Gabba instead of a sub continent dust bowl...

Yeah, did the job, but batting still shit and bowling ok (Starc needs a time out)....fielding better, normally the least of the worries for Australia.

2nd Test;

AUS 4/384 (J. Burns 172*, T. Head 161, M. Fernando 3-99) v SL

Well done Joe Burns and Travis Head =D> Great knocks and great partnership 8)

Marcus Harris...your dismissals this summer have been lame as f***. You can bat. Just got to eradicate the careless crap that exists in your game.

Khawaja...in all sorts. Just isn’t in the right frame of mind one thinks. Hope he can emerge from his ‘fog’.

According to one K.Hagdorn,Harris has been getting Out like he did today,right through from Junior Cricket.

And if I heard him right on 6PR this morning,”Usman Khawaja is a Selfish player!”

Mmmm,I wonder if Uzzie’s Management is onto that one?!
