Smith is a f*ckin' maestro. =D> =D> =D> What an unusual batting performance that was! :D

Enter N. Lyon. :-$ This is your time. Day 5. Leach managed a bit of turn so go to it!

Starc will likely clean up the tail [-o< if the rest of the "batsmen" can be dealt with. The 4th innings at Leeds was well covered until the last 90 minutes. Take nuthin' f'granted this time.

Paine will have also learned a few clues re: defending a total and setting fields to manage who is facing.

I'm glad I'm not working tomorrow. O:)
Lyon owes us. Better put in a decent day.

Paine just needs to stop wasting f***'n referrals.

All there for the taking!!
Some cool heads, not too much short stuff, Lyno to bag 4, and the quicks clean up. Not much to ask for.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark

Now then,7 - 173 after Haze got Butler leaving one, only for it to Crash into Off Stump.

Great!

Lyon’s having a crack at Archer.Any chance of doing a Richie Benaud at Old Trafford, circa 1961 and go around the Wicket?

WTF

Starc dropped, but no Pattinson
Marsh in with Siddle...

Pick a side trying not to lose rather than a side trying to win...if we lose, just desserts for f***** up selections.

Also win toss and bowl with the worlds best spinner...morons

Get the feeling it’s gunna end up 2 - 2,which in the scheme things isn’t great, when you want to hammer the poor old Poms 3 to 5 - Nil!

Still, the fact we have Retained The Ashes gives me cause to be a smug shit, knowing Fleet St above all else in Ye Olde Darte will be mightily pissed off, labelling us as always,”The Worst Aussie Team Ever!”

Yep,we got rolled by 136 runs, after the temporary Captain did a Bob Willis and sent the Home Team in on a good batting Wicket and the rest was history.

Ponting did the same, but he was a regular Captain compared to the above 2 and we almost pulled it off!

5th Test;

ENG 294 (J. Buttler 70, J. Root 57, M. Marsh 5-46, and P. Cummins 3-84, J. Hazlewood 2-76) & 329 (J. Denly 94, B. Stokes 67, J. Buttler 47, N. Lyon 4-69, M. Marsh 2-40, P. Siddle 2-52, P. Cummins 2-67) defeated AUS 225 (S. Smith 80, M. Labuschagne 48, J. Archer 6-62, S. Curran 3-46) & 263 (M. Wade 117, M. Leach 4-49, S. Broad 4-62, J. Root 2-26)

Disappointing end to a great series. Some players need to be sorted out or cast out - Warner, Harris, Paine

Tim Paine has been doing a really good job since our disaster in South Africa, however, his captaincy in this series has cost us a couple of test matches in my view. Why bowl first in this test? Strange. His batting is a concern too.

Wade is a weird one. He is batting well, but has been inconsistent in this series. It’s either nothing or a hundred.

I was absolutely rapt for Marnus Labuschagne. He was excellent despite not making a ton. He’s a lock in the team going forward. I like his tenacity.

I said at the start of this test not picking Starc was dumb.

Keeping Warner was just as bad.

Bowling first on a dry deck with the worlds best offie on hand...

All conspired to stuff us up this game.

Paine is an average captain at best...
Australia have NFC when to review a decision...like having 4 Watson’s in the team...

It’s a bloody conundrum. What to do with Paine? I’d rather see Alex Carey in the team - excellent bat, and very good keeper. But who will captain the side???

We lack decent leaders outside of Smudge.

As bonkers as this may sound, I would consider bringing in Aaron Finch as captain (I think he’s a good one) and bat him in the middle order. A possible team for our summer...

D. Warner
U. Khawaja
M. Labuschagne
S. Smith
A. Finch (c)
M. Wade / M. Marsh
A. Carey
P. Cummins
M. Starc / J. Pattinson
N. Lyon
J. Hazlewood

Refresh my memory.

Can Smithy get the jib back and if so,when?

If not,Finchy’s a good choice.Imagine the deadset Whingeing in the West though,if Aaron did get the nod?

I don’t think Smudge can captain for a couple of years at least.

Lemme guess, Perthonians reckon Shaun or Mitch Marsh should captain
