Roger retires

Post by nudder12 »

Nooooo.... :(
But yes.
Roger has called it quits.
What an amazing tennis player, and ambassador for tennis, he has been over the last couple of decades.
Although we haven't seen him in action for a while, he'll be sorely missed.
In my lifetime, he's the GOAT - no matter if others have won more Grand Slams.
His sheer talent, style, and ability to play any shot and on any surface, makes him so in my eyes. But it's more than that - he was humble, had great respect for the game and it's history, and gave back to tennis in so many ways.
Farewell Roger, and thanks for the many many wonderful memories.

Yeah, what an awesome player. I’m no huge tennis fan, but could watch every match he played in.

Agree with every word you said Nuddy.

Absolute class act. Some of his backhanders were just jaw droppingly good.

Well played Roger, it’s been a pleasure to watch =D> =D> =D>

I stopped watching tennis after McEnroes antics went unpunished and the game, in my eyes, never recovered.
Federer gave me reason to watch his games.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark

He had an amazing career and in a way made Nadal and Djokovic the players they became.

I'm a big Federer fan and he is probably the best player to watch for certain but as got GOAT status there really isn't any criteria or record he broke that hasn't already been broken by the other two.
