Hmmm, good defending tackle saved Argentina there,I reckon.Behich was on the way to a memorable Goal.

Brazil 4-0 up at half time against South Korea and must be favourites now if they weren't already.

Good on Morocco! =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

But boy,did Spain make an even bigger mess of their Penalties than Japan, including their Dopey Goalkeeper. He gave himself very little chance of saving any of them.

Seems like the end of his time playing for Portugal will be similar to the end of his time playing with Man U. Off to Saudi Arabia by the sounds of it.

Although I'd imagine if they make the final and play Argentina then he will start.

It'd be interesting. He'd have a point to prove.
Maybe those that matter are seeing his demise as a player, or at least surpassed by others?
If he's behaving petulantly then his team focus might be perceived as poor.
I have no idea of course. :-k I only like a good highlights package when watching soccer.

It has been young Jack Riewoldt levels of sooking, It has certainly tarnished his reputation which is a shame after such a great career.

When Bobby Charlton had reached the end of his Classy Career and with Matt Busby gave Manchester United the Respect they Deserved,he gave some unexpected but refreshing insight on how difficult it was to keep a reputation as a Gentleman of Football. He reflected on how difficult it was to be that player,as there were occasions where he wanted to have a call at Refs. That he didn’t much, when Referees over a Long period of time, would have driven players Mad from time to time, was a great reflection on who he was!

Christiano Ronaldo May have Won 5 Balon D’Or’s(1 of them outrageously after Disgracefully shoving a Referee)might be 5 times the player, but will never be Half the Man Bobby Charlton still is!

Argentina defeat Croatia 3-0 to reach the final. Messi scoring the first from the spot before Alvarez scored a brace.

This game ends the World Cup career for one of the great midfielders Luka Modric.

France beat Morocco 2-0 to advance. The French scored early and then sat back before scoring again late, they won with only 38% possession.

An all time classic final. 3-3 the final score with Argentina winning 4-2 on penalties. Messi scored twice and Mbappe became the first player to score a hattrick in a World Cup final where all three actually went over the line.

We can declare the Messi V Ronaldo debate officially over!

One of the greatest sporting finals I’ve ever seen in any sport.

So pleased for Messi, so sad for Kylian and a couple of other French stars (Coman in particular- the kid was brilliant when he came on, had the courage to step up for a penalty, unfortunately for him was saved).

The French team will have their chance again in 2026 for sure.
