Not often the Aussie Cricket Team has 5 months off but they are back in action in the lead up the the Ashes Series and World Cup.

Playing a warm up tournament for the ICC Champions Trophy in Malaysia of all places I believe

They are taking on the West Indies at the moment.

The Aussies scored 9/279 off their 50 overs.

Clarke 81 (79)
Punter 54 (53)
Katich 39 (69)
Cosgrove 34 (38,)
Haddin 23 (19)

Taylor 3/59 off 10
Bradshaw 2/37 off 10
Smith 2/40 off 9
Bravo 1/59 off 7
Edwards 1/38 off 6

Windies gone mental in the first 15 overs.

Currently 0/94 off 13

Gayle 27 (27)*
Chanderpaul 57 (56)*

McGrath 0/15 off 4
Johnson 0/24 off 3
Watson 0/10 off 2
Bracken has been absolutely spanked 0/43 off 5 but he's also bowled 2 maidens.

That was some collapse.

McGrath looks like he hasn't missed a beat. Spot on line and length the whole night. What a champion he is.

Was the game on Fox? I missed it completely. I hate missing games.

Watson pulled his finger out with 4/43. Still went for over 5 an over but got the wickets which were vital.

The Windies completely lost the plot after Chanderpaul went by the looks. Loving the look of the scorecard, with the exception of the opening pair for WI.

Bracken must have copped a pasting in those 3 overs that weren't maidens... bloody hell. Finished up with 2/45 from 6.3 with those 2 maidens. Incredible.

Hussey must be resting. How Katich continues to get a game is bloody well beyond me. The guy is a no good hack who wouldn't know one day cricket if it bit him on the arse.

Ponting got fined his entire match fee for questioning an upiring decision.

The ump called a wide when the ball clipped the batsman's pads on the way through.

Apparantly Ponting asked the umpire if he heard it clip the batters pads, and then said to the ump if he couldn't hear it he shouldn't be an umpire and told him to go home!

Ponting up to his usual tricks, playing like a spoilt little brat, who wants to pick up his bat & ball & go home.

Incredible spell of bowling by Mitchell Johnson last night. If he can learn the art of swing it both ways and getting it to hold its line (on a more consistent basis), he is going to be a very damaging bowler. Good on him as well, has had his critics and bowled well last night.

Needs to learn a slower ball too and natural variation but he will learn that.

Yeah it was a great spell and his reward was a plane ticket home!

Good win by aussies.
Watson did very well opening the batting, and as Rossoneri said, Johnsons bowling was fantastic

Windies towelled us up overnight.

Hussey and Haddin put on 170 but it wasn't enough.

Stuart Clark got slaughtered by Lara and Gayle, also conceeding 33 extras didnt help.

Man Clarke got absolutely pumelled. Something like 87 off 8 overs. It was painful to watch at times. I really felt for the big fella.

Good harm him big time come summer, it hurts especially after his heroics in South Africa.

I'm sure the selectors are going to be looking for consistency.

Well if the selectors are consistant they would drop clarke if you remember a certain victorian stayed on to bowl his 10 overs for 100 now if clarke bowled on he would of gone for 120 + but no he is from nsw he will be alright

Yes, they're all out to get us; the great conspiracy theory strikes again!!

Or not. Clarke can bat (sometimes) and is also a good fielder. Lewis can't do either of those. I'm a Victorian and i hope Lewis never gets close to even being considered for an Australian guernsey ever again.

Finally a Victorian who isn't all bent out of shape ;)

Lewsis is overated IMO. Bowled one decent over at the death to win us a match against NZ but has produced virtually nothing since.

Or before.

I think Clarke is soley a Test match bowler, but only on subcontinent wickets where his subtle movement will be usefull. He has a great leg-cutter, but im not sure that will benefit him on the WACA and GABBA pitches this year.

Great innings by Hussey last night, true captains knock!

In regards to bowlers at the moment you would have to say for the tests Lee, McGrath and Clark are the first 3, but who is the fourth now?
Dizzy, Johnson or Tait?

Certainly will be a tough choice.
